4 stars for the bread and zero for the cake. I love ginger cake but they managed to achieve what I thought was impossible - I didn?t finish the slice of cake I bought. If I had eaten it in the shop rather than bought it to take home I would have asked for a refund. I don?t know if it was stale but it was a weird, very dry, crumbly texture. It sort of turned to dust in my mouth. It was not very gingery but that?s more of a personal taste thing and would have been forgivable if the cake had been even slightly moist. Really unpleasant.

Excellent coffee. Fabulous bread. Delicious bacon roll.

Great cafe with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and delicious cakes, cookies and drinks. I would say the sweet goods are much better than the savoury ones.

Royally messed around by Blackbird bakery HQ. Cancelled my daughter?s birthday cake 1 day before it was due. What adds insult to injury is that 3 days later they still haven?t refunded me. (I have to say the member of staff at Blackbird East Dulwich liaising with me, Reece, was very nice. I ordered cake from there.)

been coming here for years and haven?t had problems. But this time they gave me the most stale piece of cake i?ve ever had. Was so disgusting (i?ve tried that flavour before i know what it?s meant to taste like) and so hard. Couldn?t even eat more than one mouthful, would have asked for my money back if i hadn?t got it to takeaway. shame i used to like this cafe very hesitant to go back now.

The Blackbird Bakery is a small artisan bakery with a distinctly 'German feel' to the quality and nature of their breads and cakes. The small coffee area is cosy and also an ideal.place to do some work on a pad or laptop while watching the street-life pass by outside. It's located just a 5 five-minutes walk from East Dulwich station. So, if you're looking for quality, fresh breads, or you have some time to spend on a coffee with a slice of cake or a stollen-bar, then this is a great place to go. Of course you can also do both?

Comfortable coffee shop, with some vegan cakes. Great for waiting for MOT to be completed opposite.

Lovely little bakery and sit-in cafe selling freshly baked artisan bread, cakes, sandwiches, breakfast rolls, overnight oats, fresh juices, tea and coffee. Very cosy atmosphere and friendly, service creates a relaxing environment to sit down and enjoy the tasty food and coffee. The branding is also very cute, and I couldn't help myself from buying one of their bags for life with the blackbird bakery logo. Would heartily recommend.

The place looks nice the coffee is not good). It's like the barista hasn't been trained perhaps.

Nice staff, good food. I gave them only 4 stars because of the price and the fact that their breads are no longer organic.

I don't know what is going on with this branch in particular, visited early December and mid December both time they had ran out of Tuna, then ran out of bread! New year, same problems, no Bread! with a BAKERY that actually sells Bread, how can you run out of bread! I ask if I could have one of the sandwiches the staff was making and her reply was the sandwiches were being made for Tomorrow so buy buying 2 they wouldn't be enough for tomorrow...there was literally 10 sandwiches...lol CRAZY
