Had a haircut there. One scissor cut on the front, now I look like someone from the 30s. Had to stop the haircut midway so I could go to another salon to fix it. Still costed 20. The hairdresser might be inexperienced with Asian hair, but this is literally the worst I have had over 25 years of my life. There is no hair washing and they reuse the robes without washing. Place is not clean. Nice hairdresser, but definitely won't come again.

Went for haircut. Stairs? Dirty. Floor? Dirty. Skylights? Dirty. Barber cloths that they wrap around you? Dirty. Chairs? Dirty. And leather headrest missing. Razors? Barber cleaned by burning with a lighter. Haircut? Yeah but also forehead ears and neck cut.

So desperate to do waxing, couldn?t find nothing last minute thankfully yesterday they accepted me and let me do an appointment. I was just gonna do full leg but Bee made me so comfy that I acc did brazilian wax too. No cap it did hurt, but my hair is mad think and grows out quickly, but omds she made the experience so much better and now Imma be a regular. She did my eyebrows thinner than I asked and when I mentioned this she said ?yeah because you have a gap so it?s hard? instead of just doing as I asked and has been done by other brow threading services in the past. I had the worst experience. I got gel nails, and they started chipping the very same night! As if that weren?t enough, most nails started to break in the same week! And gel nails are supposed to protect nails from breaking! I went on a holiday after getting my nails done, so I wasn?t able to go back there and complain about the poorly done nails, or get them removed, I had to watch my nails chipping and breaking. And when I finally got the gel removed, I have notices that my nails were, and still are very weak. I?d never go back to that place again. The staff were nice but I think the product they are using is really cheap.

Was desperate for a haircut during one of the lowest points of my life. Walked in and had one of the best haircuts (and wash) ever by Aster who was very kind, thorough and skilful. Prices are very affordable, great place to go especially if you are starting out new in London. Lots of love for Aster.

I should start by saying I have been waiting 6 months to treat myself to a nice pedicure and selected Alpha because they had availability tonight. I Booked an hour long luxury pedicure, but received a 35-minute rush job with no luxury included.First, was told to sit in the massage chair, where a dirty towel was already draped over the foot bath area. I dipped my feet into frigid waters just as I was told to get out of the chair and pick a colour from the selection on the back wall. I awkwardly put my now wet feet back into my sandals and walked over to pick a colour. I was then told, ?no, actually, you paid for luxury, so pick one of these? (from the swatch sitting at the chair I had just left). So I picked a colour and sat back down, again dipping my feet into the water that barely covered my feet. I couldn?t sit back in the chair to enjoy the massage settings without pulling my feet out of the water, but they never added more water to make it comfortable for me.Then commenced a very fast, rough, and unpleasant experience -cuticle cutting should not be painful; and typically for ticklish feet there should be some care when grating callouses. Not so at Alpha!No warm towels, no wax, no massage until after my nails were painted, then a very quick 10-second lotion application before declaring ?ok, you?re done!? And leaving me to perform a manicure on a woman who had just walked in.Absolutely atrocious service and no way in hell will I be returning.

Worst nail job. The products he used where old and had a crusty finish. I did not even ask him to fix it because I could see that he has not the means to do it better. Nails had a terrible shape as well. I walked out just to go to another shop to get it fixed. Spend £70 today ???

A waste of my hard earned cash. I came in for a take off, full set with shellac on top as 2 of my nails had broken. The gentleman was very nice and warm. Very helpful and accommodating. His suggested I instead do infills and repaired the nails as my set was perfectly done by my usual lady who wasn?t free and I was going to a bday. So I did what he suggested. His drilling hurt my nails twice. Not happened to me before. So painful my hands were stiff from fear of hurting again. But it gets worst. I asked for shellac and his painting wasn?t the greatest with bumps and the colour being unevenly applied. He did 2 coats and it defo needed three but because I came with my colleague I didn?t want to be slow it down so she has her manicure (when we booked we assumed there would be two people since we booked to have our treatments at the same time - otherwise you?d think he would have said one can come at a time and the other at a subsequent time - which in that case would have allowed us to make a decision on whether to book or not).To be fair I didn?t complain about any of the above to him because he?s a nice man.But what prompted me to write this review is the fact I had these infills done on Friday and as of today, Sunday morning two nails are broken despite the very thick acrylic overlay and shellac layers.This is appalling and has never happened to me in over 10 years of getting acrylics. I?m so disappointed and gutted I paid 30 quid for this. I wish I never not book with my usual lady since now I?ll have to go back to her anyway.This is a place to avoid for acrylic and if you want a good nail paint. My colleagues manicure wasn?t bad, it was her first ever but she didn?t find it relaxing at all. I hope hers lasts.I?m sure there must be other things this salon does great but acrylic nails and shellac isn?t one of them.

Amazing! Tim is so great! My nails are perfect! I want to explain why: I am very fussy and too much sensitive and when I came first time I was scared (like always with every nail artist) that I will feel pain, because I'm very very sensitive on my nails and skin. (I am ginger and this is why I'm too much sensitive unluckily). But Tim never hurt my nails or skin around. This is rare for me. He is so accurate and fast! I did acrylic nail. And it last for weeks (after 3 weeks of course my nails were too long and to do not risk to break them obviously, I came to do refil. So good price and professional person!) Anyway, in 10 years that I travelled and did with so many different nail professionals (and also with very expensive ones) unlikely they always did something that I didn't like (I am fussy and sensitive, pratically a worse customer! Ahahaha!!). But Tim is so great and professional. Try and see it ;) He has 10+ years of experience (in Nails stuff) and I saw few clients (before and after me) who told me they are his usual clients, for years now. I like that he use acrylic fast and professionally.5*!! Try of you don't believe :D

I had a full set of acrylics nails applied here. I booked the appointment online and walked in. The chap who did my nails was very attentive and polite because he was always asking me, are they OK? Do you like them?I make a point of saying this, because so many other times, when I've had my nails done in other establishments, the nail technician will never ask you, they just do it as quickly as they can, so then they can get you out of the door and onto their next customer. However here at Alpha Unisex Hair & Beauty, they do not do this.This is a prime example of excellent customer service and something that I feel is very important. After my appointment, I had a free 30 minute back massage on one of their massage chairs. This was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be returning. I highly recommend this establishment to others visiting the Finsbury Park area.

One star for the 20% discount but no stars for the unpleasant mani and pedi service from Tim. Professional application but really rude and abrupt if you told him you wanted it to be slightly different in terms of shape. Kept telling me off for talking too fast as his first language was not english. Told me I was too difficult. I've had manicures and pedicures all over the world and it was meant to be a relaxing treat but not here! He showed you the nails but did not expect you to say you wanted it a bit different. If you want a relaxing time don't come here.
