This is about the new Aldi who took over the old Matalan store building (not impressed!)..
Ok, so I have yet to shop in store.. but.. using their own website, re price matching grocery shopping, I matched my Tesco list against Aldi's, and half the stuff (Pringles, Biscoff Spread, Matteson's Turkey Rashers, Richmond Roast Chicken Sausages..), I couldn't find?! I did see on Tesco's site that they have price matched many prices vs Aldi... but how long this will last is anyone's guess!... Was a bit concerned when the chavs had sparked a security action on day one at this Aldi... maybe it was a Tesco 'mystery shopper' who tried to tarnish Aldi already... or just the riff raff who use Aldi.. who knows?!
I'll be sticking to Tesco!

Day off from work and decide to go shopping at Matalan before my son comes back from school. . After spending 40 min in two buses I arrived at the destination and found out that Matalan at Leytonstone is closed . Very upsetting as now I will not have enough time to go to the other bus and it will take an hour and 20 minutes to arrive in Beckton. Very disappointed.

Feels cramped, and it's unsanitary having to open chiller doors to get to everything. OK range of stuff but not great. Hopefully it keeps the riff raff out of Tesco's.

Two things they are lacking 1st is bakery & 2nd is reward app otherwise was waiting for them to open as none closeby still alot of products they need to put & the 2nd store next to it if its m&s or any other will have impact how many people will come will be good for topup shopping

A very big store. Has a carpark. Wheelchair accessable. This is the first matalan I've been to that has self-service tills. It's all on one level. Enjoyed my visit even though the store wasn't laid out to its potential. It does feel quite run down from outside through to the inside. Can pay with cash or card
