Itâ??s permanently closed

Large store has shut down and theyâ??ve moved into a temporary store whilst apartment buildings and a new smaller store are built. Sadly staff are as rude and as unhelpful as ever. I prefer to walk 30 mins to Lidl rather than 5 mins to Tesco as Lidlâ??s staff are far more pleasant and helpful - and the prices so much lower.

Worst shopping experience ever !!!!! After being abused verbally by an emotional unbalanced customer I had to leave the store to avoid physical confrontation, staff clearly have no customer care training !!! I had my Sunday ruined and had no other choice but leave the store without my shopping! Tesco : "Get your staff educated before putting them on your stores" !!!! Being verbally abused and called a racist is not something to be taken lightly !!!! Thank you Tesco for the worst and most humiliating experience of my life !!!!

With the exception of a few gem members this store is run by terrible rude staff with no training, hold customers in contempt are extremely rude, hostile or passive aggressive for no reason. I would not employ these people for cleaning toilets let alone for customer facing roles such as cashiers, how they passed an interview or a recruitment process baffles me. It's like they have hired from the dregs of the locality. Items are frequently out of stock and the variety and product range continues to diminish. I understand the store is to be knocked down and a new one established, good riddance hope they invest in some proper customer service training and fresh staff for the new store. Would rather walk to the Sainsbury's which is further or shop online than continue to come here.

Having a snack page on Instagram (check it out at @thesweetspot_sv) and doing snack swaps with other countries, I've tried many different snacks from around the world. However, my favorite ones are from Germany and the UK. I knew when I came to the UK, I had to take a look to see what they had to offer. One of the stores I wanted to check out was Tesco. There was a Tesco Express near my hotel, but I wanted to look at what was available in the bigger store. While not exactly close, my kids were able to trek the 20 minutes from where we were and the 25 minutes back to the hotel. What troopers! Well, it was either that or no snacks for them! While I wouldn't exactly call this Tesco a "superstore" per se, it was a lot bigger than the express. It was basically a regular size grocery store. However, their selection of snacks was insane! I'll be honest, I didn't go thru any of the other aisles, but I'm sure they had a good supply of lotions and Kleenex, too. You know, just in case you're looking for those 2 things together. Just sayin'. Anyway, like I said, one aisle had all the candy, cookies, snack cakes and anything else that will give you diabetes. If that isn't enough, they have a huge selection of ice creams in another aisle, too! Including Kinder Ice Cream! Now, back to that snack selection. Of course, they will have a lot of Kinder and Cadbury items. But, they also have unique M&Ms and Kit Kats, that you can't find in the US. Not to mention other brands like Galaxy, Mr. Kipling, McVities, and Thorntons. Also underrated are the Tesco-branded snacks. They have unique flavors and the taste is that of any other name-brand item. Unless you are a snack freak like me, you can probably get most of your snack needs at any Tesco Express. Yes, they have a bigger selection, but of course, the more popular items are stocked up at the other stores.

You would think that having recently had their Elephant and Castle store closed down due to a rodent infestation, Tesco would make sure the hygiene standards at this store were top notch. Sadly, that's not the case, this place is unclean. However, if you're happy to overlook the cleanliness of the place you shop in you're still not in for a good trip. The shelves in the place are half empty so you have to buy whatever Tesco can be bothered to stock. When the fresh items are in that you want to buy or the ones you've had to pick up as there's nothing else you'll most likely find it's has or is about to go out of date. Not to worry, take a 5 minute bus ride from the bus stop directly outside Tesco and the 1196 bus will take you to a clean and well stocked Sainsbury's at Nine Elms. I don't know how Tesco have survived a 100 years but then this is a company that are quite happy to break the law and sell knives to children, put horse meat in their burgers and try and get slaves to work for them.

Staff are ok, some friendly but the shop seriously lack trolley for customers' use. If you do your shopping anytime from 9:30 am during weekends, then you would expect to either wandering around in the car park waiting for a spare trolley to he available or use one of those with child seats. Surely Tesco are aware of this problem but nothing has been done.

Haven't visited recently but surprised to see some negative reviews. I have frequented this store regularly for 8 years and have always found staff helpful and obliging, general management is of a higher standard than other medium sized/large Tesco stores I shop at. Can get busy in the evening but first thing in the morning experience has always been great. Free parking too, a definite bonus in such a central London location. And they don't make you put coins in the trolleys either :)

Had to visit the tesco pharmacy on saturday 28th july 2018 at about 5.30 in the afternoon while staying up in London on my daughters hen weekend, cannot praise the pharmacist that was on duty enough he was absolutely amazing and helped deal with a very painful problem that I was suffering from and gave lots of helpul advice i had left my medication at home and was very upset . Wish he was my local pharmacist.
Tesco should be very happy they have a great guy working there.

Huge Tesco near oval. I'm pretty sure it's the largest in the area. You need to head to old Kent road to get anything bigger. With that you get the perks of a huge selection of items. Decent additional sections include pharmacy, kitchen tools, pet foods etc. Bakery is one of the better Tesco ones.
Two complaints are despite the size it does run out of stuff by the end of the day, especially on weekends. Also I don't think I've ever seen any more than half the check outs active, although I do always go at off-peak times
