I have purchased a glasses with Miosmart lens for my son in Specsavers Kingston for myopia control two years ago. Recently, it discovered that the lens sold to us is not miosmart but another kind of short sight controlling lens. All of our records including its internal documents and invoice showed that my purchased product is miosmart. We have discussed with this shop manager and both director and manager replied me that it cannot be refunded as they think the product given to me is good for my son. It is totally misrepresentation and I will prepare to claim them through the court. Really bad and not professional. Be careful and should avoid.

I had a brilliant experience today (15/09/25) in the Kingston-upon-Thames store. I came in for a new prescription and was also interested in trying contact lenses for the first time. I was seen by a lovely trainee optometrist called Rose. She was very helpful and extremely thorough during the eye exam (considering my eyesight is really bad). She was very patient and answered all my questions to the best of her ability. She also engaged with me on a friendly level and told me about how she was new to the store and currently studying for her university degree.
Once my eye exam was finished, she booked me in for a contact lens appointment later that day, which was about an hour after my first appointment. I went for a walk around Kingston, and about 20 minutes later I received a call from Specsavers. It was Rose, saying they could facilitate my appointment earlier, which would give me more time in my day and mean I didn?t have to wait around too long. I came back in, and Rose then did my contact lens appointment. She mentioned that her director encouraged her to carry out the appointment herself, which I thought was really good, as it gave her more opportunity and experience.
This was my first time trying contact lenses, and I was concerned I might not be able to wear them, as other opticians had told me my prescription may not be compatible. But Rose talked me through the whole process and reassured me there was nothing to worry about, even sharing her own experience of using contact lenses.
It was refreshing to see a friendly face and to get to know someone starting out in their career. I know what it?s like to be a trainee in a new job and how much effort it takes to progress. I hope Rose gets to see this. If there is an award for ?Best New Trainee? or ?Employee of the Month,? I would like to nominate her ?.

I booked an appointment for an eye exam on-line which was quick and easy. I was seen by Zahria who was very thorough and kind. She diagnosed my problem and suggested a treatment protocol. Excellent service from Specsavers!

Such a refreshingly great experience!!
Having been with another opticians for a few years, I made the choice to switch back to Specsavers after my friend told me how great the Kingston store were & she wasn't wrong!! As soon as I went in to enquire the girl was so helpful, updated all of my details as it was all ouf of date & explained what tests I'd need to get new contacts & glasses, then booked me in later that week!
26/Jul/25, I had the full works! Eye exam + OTC scan, eye test, contact lens review & test, which I was expecting to be a long process, especially as I was 15min late to my appointment yet, I was treated so warmly & kindly by everyone straight away?
The girl who did my eye exams was so sweet & funny, calmed me right down as I was so stressed after being late! Then Zahira, the lovely optician went out of her way to review my contacts after my eye test for me (I had bought my last prescription with me thankfully!) & even kindly squeezed in the lens fitting I'd technically missed due to my lateness, after managing to find a pair of dailies in the store for me to test for fit (usually impossible as I wear J+J Oasys & toric lenses for both eyes in different strengths!).
Then, there was a newer girl who was super sweet, who kindly setup my new contact subscription (easycare). She fully explained how the easycare package works (so helpful as it'd been years since I'd been with Specsavers), how I can update or change delivery etc if needed & the extra perks like getting my lens & eye tests free as part of the package which was a bonus & saved me £ right away?
The guy who helped me finding frames was also friendly & warm, as was the girl who then ordered my frames/measured me up. Then one week later, a lovely lady got my glasses for me & helped adjust them so they fit just perfect (had a great sense of humour too, despite my collection time being 15min before closing!)
So, as the above essay says, it was a great experience & I'd highly recommend, as they offer genuine customer service which is refreshing these days tbh! I wish I'd never diverted to the other optician (VE) for the last few years as the service is the 1st place just cos it saved me a few quid at the time, cos experience wise it's night & day!! Thank you Specsavers team on Fri 26/July 2-3pm & Fri 02/Aug 5.45pm (I'm sorry my memory is rubbish with names, but everyone was so genuinely lovely & helpful to me which was hugely appreciated ?)
