Up until recently Myself & family boycotted using/donating to. this shop for a long while. It is local to us & all the staff bar one have been a delight, helpful appreciative friendly. Usually since its a charity we can ignore 1 hostile worker/volunteer however the sales assistant (non volunteer) seems to go out of her way to be very hostile & rude, to the point of aggression. A neighbour told me recently this particular lady has left so popped in there today. What a difference! Good stock great prices and happily a much more relaxed atmosphere. I didn't want to write a negative review of the charity, but didn't realise until today, & the calm environment in the shop, how anxious that 1 hostile person had made me. Glad peace is restored

I came with two big bags of donations but the lady in the shop was so rude on taking them in. I know she is a volunteer but how she has snatched the bags from my hand and yelled at me for not leaving them at a right place have defeated a good purpose for everyone. I have made my mind of never ever take any donation to this shop.

Hello everyone,I am posting this review on behalf of our shop. I am someone who works here and would like to first of all thank the public for your continuous support during these difficult times. However, I am very saddened to read the last two reviews, which are saying, that our staff speak to customers badly.I am sorry, if that is how you feel / felt and I do apologise for this too.I would like to tell you about things from our point of view as well if that is ok.We are often overloaded with donations and have to refuse them sometimes. This has been allowed by our Head Office. We simply do not have the space to accept 150+ bags per day. When we receive these kind donations, we have to unfortunately turn them down occasionally and please believe me, it does not make us happy to do so, at all. But we do it, to comply with H&S. As if we do not have the space where to store them, we are risking creating a trip hazard for our staff. Some staff are people over the age of 70 and we have to think of their safety too, as a fall at that age could have massive consequences to their health. However, as a result of us refusing donations, we are often sworn at or spoken in very unkind way. We try to explain the above and luckily, most customers are very understanding. Thank youAnother issue are face masks. We politely ask people to wear one. And often we hear the *F* word back. Even from very young people. Please understand, wearing a mask is Government's requirement. But mainly, it protects us here, as we are in touch with many people on daily basis. Some people do not keep the safe distance and we will not compromise our safety.Of course, if you are exempt, you can say so and we will never ask you what the exemption is.And another issue we face are the amount of customers we allow in our store. We cannot allow any amount, as our store is not that big and we would not be able to maintain the safe distance between staff and customers.Unfortunately, some people are not understanding about this and cause arguments when we explain they have to wait outside for a while, until someone exits our shop.We do all the above (face masks, limited amount of customers at any one time in the shop, etc.), to protect the health and wellbeing of all of our staff and you as customers too.We do not do so to upset you but to protect us all.Thank you everyone for you support and understanding too.

I understand is a charity and I greatful for it. Unfortunately they way they speak to you is horrible, if it was the first time I will let go but is mostly everytime and from almost every member of the staff.
