Mike, the security guard, was most helpful, courteous, pleasant and kind in helping me with my trolley this morning. He is a credit to the B&Q company. I will definitely recommend them and continue to shop there as they employ such high level staff.

Went to b&m to pick up some plants and gardening tools and the guy serving us, Laurence was extremely rude. Held his hand up to silently tell us to stop talking and took ages getting a half price item reduced. Overall terrible customer service

Alfie was incredibly helpful from start to finish. I was confused about which light and dimmable bulb to get, but he guided me through it and even helped with everything else I needed until checkout. Great service.

Went to view at the tile section. Not alot of selection available. More available online but it's a hassle to order samples. Maybe if they had more of their online selection with in store samples it would make renovating my bathroom less arduous..waiting for samples to arrive in the post delays things significantly. But I think this is the case with most of the hardware shops - online has a wider selection.

A large DIY store with a decent garden centre. I cam usually find what I'm looking for although today I couldn't as I wanted a chain for a bathroom sink plug but they didn't have any.

Had the best experience at B&Q Romford all down to Lee & Ben. I have been to B&Q Ilford & NOTHING compares to the service I got at Romford, Ilford will definitely not see me after. We was waiting for someone to help us for a good 20 mins having asked someone and pressed the button, Lee (who wasn?t even working in the section) noticed & came to help us promptly, honestly he couldn?t have done more, he has great banta, great advice and helped us at each stage as well as helping load the car. After Lee helped us immensely, Ben also made sure the rest of our experience stayed at the 10 it was, both were super and look forward to coming back! Thanks guys.

3 Stars - Helpful Staff but Hard to Navigate and Overpriced
I recently visited B&Q for some home improvement supplies and left with mixed feelings. On the plus side, a few of the staff members were genuinely helpful and went out of their way to assist me in finding specific items. Their advice was useful, and it?s clear that some employees are knowledgeable and care about customer service.
However, the layout of the store left a lot to be desired. It felt more like a maze than a retail space, and I spent far too long wandering around trying to find what I needed. Signage wasn?t clear or consistent, and even with a map on the app, it was frustratingly difficult to navigate. A more intuitive layout or better in-store directions would make a big difference.
Pricing was another downside. While B&Q has a decent range of products, many of them seemed overpriced compared to other stores and online options. For a chain of this size, I expected more competitive pricing. It?s especially disappointing when you?re doing a big project and every pound counts.
Overall, B&Q gets the job done if you need something urgently and don?t mind paying a bit more. The helpfulness of some staff was definitely a redeeming factor, but the store layout and pricing made the experience more stressful and expensive than it needed to be. It?s not my first choice, but I?d consider going back in a pinch?especially if I know exactly what I need beforehand.

It was always good
