Appalling stock, empty shelves and very expensive prices.

I just want to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit to Tesco Metro. I had a delivery scheduled for yesterday, and upon arriving to collect it today 14/01/2024 at 15:30h, I encountered a series of issues that left me extremely frustrated.Firstly, I was made to wait in a lengthy queue at the till, only to have a staff member called to locate my delivery. This process alone took a considerable amount of time. After a 25-minute wait, I was informed that my parcel was not there. They said that the only solution was to come back tomorrow, with the staff displaying a lack of empathy for the inconvenience caused. The overall experience was marred by the extended wait, unhelpful staff, and the apparent mishandling of my delivery. I expected a more efficient and customer-oriented service from Tesco. There was only one member of the staff who cared about me, and he came to ask if I needed any help, because he saw that I was waiting for a very long time, and it was the guy helping clients at the self- service tills.

It's a convenience store and stocks necessary foods. Salads, fruits, vegetables and products that are reasonably priced. Also mobile topups, lottery tickets are sold there. For years now, the Staff there have always been helpful when needed. Security staff at the electronic entrance ddoors watching customers on their surveillance equipment. It also sells newspapers and ? flowers and plants.

Very rude staff in this branch. I'd like to put names here but won?t as 2 women who?ve worked here for a long time are by far the most un-helpful both are even rude to 1 of the managers. I?ve given 2 stars for the security guards they?re always polite and friendly.

A bit of everything on the shelves but frankly not super clean... the staff is not very friendly (at the same time I understand, it's death to work in such an environment), the self-scan cash registers don't work not all and when an employee has to intervene, it is with great nonchalance and disrespect. In short, a rotten place where you should not set foot.

Really unhelpful when trying to pick up a package. I had a screaming baby and they attempted to find it three times at glacial speed and made numerous jokes about my name. Deeply unprofessional.

8 auto checkout machines are newly installed in the store but only 3 is open; people still have to wait in the queue. Then, what?s the points to have money spent on those machines?

The Portobello Road Tesco Express has had a recent refurbish and not for the good! They have taken away all of the old tellers, and added more self service machines. Staf in the store whilst serving on the Customer service sections are either on their mobile phones, or constantly talking to other colleagues and not talking to the customer! Also not offering to help pack the customer shopping bags. This is truely a sign of bad management and a very poor training of staff. If there was another super market of equal size and contents of food nearby, I most certainly shop there. In short, I do not like this store anymore.

Always has self service machines that are not working

I usually shop here 2 or 3 times a week, but lately the checkouts are closed. So if you don't want to use the self checkout, there's a long queue for the counter which is difficult to use if you have a lot of shopping. I will be avoiding shopping here

This is a review about this Tesco as a Evri Parcelshop Partner and the refusal to accept a medium sized parcel despite being clearly listed as a drop off point. I will only state facts to illustrate the lack of ownership/accountability and customer service before describing my thoughts on the issue.[The facts]I went to drop off a prepaid Evri return (medium sized parcel) and was told by Carole that they could not accept it as it was too heavy. She did not even attempt to lift the package. She then went on to explain that the Evri driver refuses to take 'larger' packages. I explained that i dropped off 2 pkgs similar sized 2 weeks ago and there was no issue, but she went on to explain that the current driver refuses because the truck cannot be parked in front of the store. I pointed to the shopping carts and said last time i put them in the shopping cart so that the box could be rolled out, but she declined. I went on to explain that it was not my issue, Evri and Tesco entered into a partnership and that they are listed as an Evri Parcelshop and therefore obligated to accept the package, to which she told me that they are not obligated to take packages. There are also no stated limit to the size of the parcel they will accept detailed anywhere. She ultimately refused to accept the parcel. I have tried for 3 weeks to wait for Evri home collection but they have not made any attempts - my Ring doorbell is the evidence hence my attempt at drop off. Also other Tescos also refuse or run out of the blue tracking barcodes to confirm the dropoff, so issues abound all around.[The opinion]This is just not good customer service and just passing the buck on a problem that Tesco needs to address with the Evri driver/Evri management. They have clearly entered into a contractual relationship but are allowing an Evri driver to be lazy and only take small packages. Then in turn they are just stepping back and say it's not their problem - which is the essence of poor customer service. I have since contacted Evri to report the situation with their uncooperative driver but this really should be for Tesco to do as they are not servicing their customers as long as they are listed as a EVRI parcelshop. To be fair, Carole seemed to understand at the end and apologised - but this is still lacking accountability and customer service as the customer was left with no solution.

They constantly screw up Tesco Whoosh deliveries. I'm often having missing items. Also their phone number doesn't work.

In the past, this store has put up a lovely Christmas tree but this year it's a horrible cardboard one ! I hope they reconsider and put up a nice Christmas tree.
