After calling up HSBC Lewisham and explaining my situation to a representative, I was told to open a student account. I was also told that appointments in person were booked up for weeks and that online would be fastest. Well, after waiting over three weeks to get my bank account I was sent a letter saying that I can't open a student account as I haven't lived in the UK for 3 years and to reapply for a regular account. I called up HSBC to explain that this was what I was told to do by HSBC and there was no accountability. I was told to open a regular account and that I could go in person to open an account so I was being told two very different things than the last call I had with HSBC. I will not be banking here. They're unprofessional and it was a complete waste of time.

Cash deposit machines always down with no alternative for depositing cash into bank. For important bills needing to be payed this should not happen. Not all of us can travel further afield for another HSBC bank.

Went there to open an account, was greatly taking care of by Ashlin, who has a great customer service, knows how to be friendly in a professional manner. I felt very well as soon as I spoke to her. She made the application very easy to understand and made a good presentation of the different services the company has. Would definitely recomend.10 out of 10 for Ashlin?s customer service and professionalism. Excellent.

One of the customer service staff of this bank is Ashlin. Since my English is very poor, she patiently helped me answer the question and slowly expressed it to me. The service was super good and trustworthy???

I went all the way to the lewisham branch today and on line it says its open and it wasn't it had a temporary closed sign on the door my one was peckham until you closed it

It?s taken me over 2 months to set up an account and access my funds. Very inconvenient and bizarre. I would not recommend starting the process with them ~ doyourself a favor and find another bank.

No counter service. Can I go to Bromley, London Bridge, or wait for two hours at the post office? This branch is a joke.

I went in to conduct a piece of urgent personal business that the bank next door (I will not say which bank) was unable to help with expeditiously or professionally. However, at HSBC Lewisham - under the managership of Chris Wilson, I think his name was, who helped me personally - my business was dealt with professionally, courteously, and to a full positive resolution within 15 minutes of my arrival (and this was on a busy Saturday morning). An excellent manager and bank, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Shocking service. Went in, to pay in a significant amount of cash. Machine wouldn't accept my card as it is first direct, part of HSBC. No counter service so waited 18 minutes in a queue for the one person who seemed to be working. Was told not our problem, go to another branch 6 miles and a 23 minute drive away!!!!... obviously Chris pitt the CEO doesn't have the intelligence to sort this out and deliver customer service.I took the money and paid into my Barclays account instead.

The worst costumer service i ever seen we waiting 1 hour somebody to see us they put us in the waiting list for becouse i just wanna to make 1 direct debit and to give as monay back from one company and the other peoples which they just come inside they been seen before us by 2 boolshit guys which they sayd im not seeing them for some reason i dont know why i remember i went in Bromley to register my father in low death certificate and he took yo us only 30 min this easy job and is going more than 1 hour rubbish

I just popped in on the off chance whilst I was in Lewisham/Catford and I think I was helped by Chris Wilson who was very helpful.Chris had a proactive, can do attitude and had my issue resolved within 10 to 15 minutes ,very impressed.I also saw the staff during my time there and they were also very positive in helping customers, so it just goes to show that positivity is infectious!long may continue and well done to everyone working at the Lewisham branch.My observation is that the layout could be better but that didn't bother me. If I did have to sit down and discuss things I can see how that maybe a bit of an issue but the staff managed well with the facilities that they had.
