This branch of Oxfam specialises in secondhand books and it has a fantastic range. Expect to find everything from children's picture books to best-selling novels and huge non-fiction tomes on ancient history. The books are usually in near-perfect condition too, which is always a bonus. I don't know if it's because of the Highgate location, but I've found that the books are pretty expensive considering they're secondhand. I paid around £3.50 for a paperback novel - obviously less expensive than Waterstones or WHSmith - but when I'm in a charity shop I kinda expect to walk out with several books and still have change left from a fiver. As it is, secondhand books from Amazon are cheaper than this place. But if you're in the area and it's a nice day, drop in for a novel and read it in the neighbouring Waterlow Park.
