While this would be a great place to meet friends for beers, unfortunately it is not a place to expect a good meal.
The Pheasant Inn is divided in two parts, a pub and a restaurant.
The pub is lively, has a great selection of beers, and has a nice outside seating area.
The restaurant, however, is dated and just felt a bit stale.
After reading such great reviews, my wife and I booked a table for dinner in the restaurant. When we arrived, we noticed that there was only one other table seated - and they appeared old enough to be our grandparents.
We should have saw the red flag and turned around, but we were there and we were hungry?and all the great reviews.
We started with a pate. While not terrible, it was nothing special. Sadly, that would be the highlight of our dinner.
For our mains we ordered a steak and ale pie and a calves liver grill. First impression, the portion sizes are shocking. We each had a mountain of food in front of us. The pie looked good, but ended there. It was so salty that it was inedible. The salt overpowered the entire dish and made it impossible to identify anything in the pie. The calves liver, on the other hand, didn?t even look good. Three huge portions of over grilled liver that looked more like rubber. The liver was almost certainly frozen, and then again, over salted.
We each had one bite and then asked for our check, which was £70 by the way.
Again, I would still go back for drinks, but for drinks only. For a £70 dinner, you can do much better.

Long queue to order food when it's busy as there is only one order point. Otherwise great food and generous portions!

Great food but the ordering system is screwed. Waited over 30 minutes to order (it wasn't that busy) because the owner seems to be unable to trust his staff and hand them the responsibility. Such a shame

Avoid. Rude staff, particularly Don. Bland fish, tasty vegetables, burnt fries, burnt calamari. Steak so so. Slow customer service. Lower stars due to waiter Don's behaviour. He should be fired. They forcefully make you pay 10% gratuity. Hidden charges. Sauces are charged. There's parking there but limited. Won't be coming again and won't recommend.

Excellent food in very generous portions. Happiness on a plate!

Popped in yesterday evening, very welcoming. Bright and cheery and that was just the staff, the building very well kept, clean and no problems acquiring a table in the Inn.
Had the Cajun Chicken and Pineapple salad, wow, what a plateful. So delicious.
Followed up with Bread and Butter pudding. A perfect end.

We were here for dinner after meeting. The food was great and very large portion. I tried the local beer Doom Bar. It was very good. They even had the glass with Doom Bar on it. The waiter was very attentive. Overall, good service and good food.

Loved the whole feel! After a long day of meeting when you want to R&R, nice vibes , big portions of food and English Pub feel. Near hotels of Heathrow, so a great relief for business travellers. Cheers

In contrast to other recent dining experiences, The Pheasant Inn was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive without being overbearing.
The food was excellent?beautifully cooked, well-presented, and most importantly, reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes. Every dish we ordered felt thoughtfully prepared, and you could really tell they take pride in what they serve.
It was refreshing to dine somewhere that strikes the right balance between quality, value, and service. We left feeling genuinely satisfied and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

I really liked this place. The food (shoulder of lamb) was excellent, the service was outstanding & it was lively, without being too noisy. All in all, a most enjoyable dinner, which I hope to do again the next time that I'm near Heathrow.

Had a lovely meal here, so much so that i went to go back with friends. Unfortunately the pub has a no dog policy and we were dog sitting, but i will go back soon
