Visited today (Bank Holiday Monday). The shop itself is well stocked, and the assistant who served us was polite and gave us a Waterstones card and event leaflet. However, the customer service overall felt performative rather than genuinely welcoming. One staff member, in particular, gave off a dismissive, snooty attitude. This made the experience less comfortable, especially for my daughter who was already anxious. A warmer, more supportive approach would have made a big difference.

I was directed here by a staff member at the Hampstead Village branch. I was looking for a particular novel, coincidentally the day before it was due to be released in paperback. She kindly looked online, and let me know that this branch already had their paperback copies available. I was able to walk over there and buy it to read on the plane returning from my trip.

I think I saw it all walking in this branch. Looking for some Pokémon collectibles we were told that the display is gone and everything is at the back. Based on what we want to spend and size of the box , the assistant could get stock out? Seriously? It's like going to buy shoes and everything it's at the back, you can't see it but they say, pick a size and I'll bring you stuff out. So many sets and type of collections, if I just want to see what you have, how can I decide what to buy after? Depending on your stock I can spend £20 or £200 or none. Ridiculous! Just avoid going there, unless you have unlimited time and patience.

You need a place like Waterstones to remind you how much you love (?loved) to read.PRO:- Very deep store- Jamie was incredible! I bought so much from his brilliant suggestions- Back half is for teens/kids- Very good sales (not just junk books)- REAL readers work here- Great recommendations- Lots of cool gift ideas- Distinctly British Books- Nice touch of whimsy- Seats if you?d like to browse booksCON:- I came to glance and ended up here for an hour- Hours reflect the O2 CenterSUMMARY:A nice break from a hectic world. Come here for knowledgeable staff and great recommendations. Remind yourself WHY you should read - because it stimulates an underused part of your brain. And you love it and are reminded when you here children here ask ?Mummy, may I have a book??

Oh dear Waterstones, what a disgrace this store is to your mighty empire. Mostly due to the dreadful atmosphere this store harbours and not to mention the manager who seemed to have as much zest and charisma as a wet piece lettuce ? was rude too. Other staff seemed helpful, but this did little to salvage the drab vibe of this branch. As far as a Waterstones store goes, this is mediocre at best.
