Hard to find what you want. Staff are not great.Today Monday 26 February 2024.I went in to buy cigarettes to find no body behind the counter but a lady (that I recognised as a member of staff) wearing her own coat that was dirty. The lady then came to the booth to assist me. (The lady was helpful and polite, i must add) once I walked away I ask a different member of staff (wearing the COOP uniform) where the manager was to which he replied "WHY"? I then had to tell him because I'm asking! He then said he is Upstairs and that he is busy, I explained that I would like to speak to the manager as I had a complaint! He called the manager from Upstairs.I spoke with the manager and told him my observations. The manager then went on to explain that the heating was broken and that for this occasion they allowed for the staff to wear their own coats to keep warm. I suggested to close the automatic doors instead of leaving them fully open and he told me that they were broken aswell. He went on to tell me that he was wearing 3 jumpers to keep warm.My point being:1. Should the store be open if it is uncomfortably cold inside?2. Should the staff have to wear their own clothes at work to keep warm and get them dirty at work??- if so dose the COOP contribute to the cost of cleaning them?3. When are the doors and heating going to be fixed? Is this a representation of exploiting workers rights being that they are predominantly foreign workers?I would like to hear back from The COOP please.

it?s fine if you go in, but don?t order online. you never get anything you actually ordered, things are just totally missed off and any substitution requests completely ignored. staff definitely need better training, or if not then co-op should just stop taking delivery requests.

Decently stocked but staff need better training- one of the male staff members came running after me in the street tapping my shoulder because he thought I left without paying, despite the lady at the front desk saying I had. Didn?t even get an apology from the fool.

A welcome alternative to the two upper-market supermarket alternatives in the downstream half of Lordship Lane SE locale. Great for the swift, brief, pop in, pay and pop out early-afternoon transaction as in my case. I loved it and hope to do it again, soon.

It's a very nice place to do shopping, or just stop by and buy some quick food to take away, it also has a costa express machine which makes it even more convenient.

Feel that goods are not put out quick enough. Especially in the Nunhead store. Since they opened I've never seen full goods

Just had the worst experience ever. I usually do most of my shopping at M&S but went in here after to buy two bottles of wine and soda cans. At the self check out, there were no employees there to check my age so I started putting the wine into my bag while I waited for someone to confirm my age and be able to pay when Steven, the extremely rude security guard started to suggest that I was stealing in a very aggressive way so I started to take everything out of my bag so he could see what I had bough. One of the soda cans opened so I went to get a new one and when I arrived there, I saw him digging into my bag without my permission taking out everything I had bought an M&S and started shouting at me when I complained about him digging into my bag without my permission and he made me leave without being able to buy my shopping.THE WORST PART WAS, THAT AS I WAS LEAVING HE STARTED SAYING STUFF IN ITALIAN LIKE CIAO BELLA AND SPEAKING IN AN ITALIAN ACCENT MOCKING ME BECAUSE IM SPANISH AND HAVE AN ACCENT MYSELF BUT HE IS SO IGNORANT THAT IS NO ABLE TO DISCERN.

It's been refurbed and almost everything is behind a glass door. Which is probably for the product and energy. Just makes it harder to see what you are looking for? Otherwise they have a decent range of products and nice offers. Loads of self checkout tills. The John Lewis pick up options is great.

I used to think good about the co op, until I decide to buy there online. I had a bad experience, they overcharg everyone 10% extra in case they decide without your autorization to buy more expensive products for what you buy. I paid 89 pounds but because there weren't all the products I chose online the receipt was 73. Then the 16 pounds are in the account of the Co Op and I still waiting after many days for them to return them to me.

So poorly managed. The staff are always restocking, blocking the aisles, but the shelves always seem to be empty. Baffling. The new one way system around the store has got the arrows muddled so people are walking counter intuitively and therefore ignoring the signs. The security guard fist bumps his mates as they walk past and then stacks things like baskets without using sanitiser which in the age of covid is stressful.Often food out of date or fruit squashed in packets so you really need to look before you buy.

Not only was the shop assistant rude to me because she had to refund money for items that had been scanned by a previous customer and not paid for, when I got home and checked my receipt I noticed that I had been short changed with the refund.
