Arrived and sent to a room not made up. Next morning - different room - hot water failed and curtain rail fell on wife's head. Never known any of this to happen before.Rooms: Standard. Fairly basic but comfy.Nearby activities: Town centre. All Croydon at your door.

We stayed here for 2 nights while sight seeing in London, it was cheaper than staying centrally and very easy to get to as it's right next to East Croydon station. Rooms were fine, just a shame you can't open te windows, especially as our thermostat was set to 24c when we arrived and it was already evening (would be nice if cleaning staff checked this when getting the room ready). We couldn't set it any lower than 19c which is way too hot for sleeping! Breakfast was fine, good value and mostly tasty. We didn't enjoy the fried eggs as they were quite dry but the second morning we were offered (without asking) the option to have a boiled or poached egg, which was great! Area is a little bit rough but we didn't feel unsafe and there are good facilities (Coop right next door and restaurants etc around the corner. Did have someone shouting and banging on something outside, very early in the morning.

I always stay here if I have an early flight from Gatwick. Super reasonable and the service is spot on. Marcia, in particular, is so incredible warm and helpful. Definitely recommend (cheaper than the London Gatwick Premier Inn and much better service!)

Stayed one night at short notice and delighted with comfy clean room, and really enjoyed the breakfast. Staff really keen to help and provide anything needed. Location was perfect for us as we were a two minute walk from the East Croydon railway with many trains into central London. Would happily stay again.Food & drinks: Lots of great choices including fresh pastries, muffin, pancakes and croissants. Yoghurt and fresh or frozen fruit available plus cooked items. Really delicious.

The location was great to around, the service however was woeful. I asked for an ironing board and iron, then went to reception after ringing for one.The chap on reception, who was as sharp as stale bread roll, said: " no worries I'll bring it up shortly." It never arrived- this was doubly disappointing as I had a night out planned so had to disguise a fairly crumpled shirt all night.Rooms: Very clean and quite basic. The view was nice but the room was crying out for a chair or small sofa.Walkability: 5- 10 min walk to East Croydon Stn and shops for provisions.
