Please make sure you read the recent reviews before deciding whether to take your vehicle to this garage! If we had read the reviews, we would have never have used them!\\nMy partner's car was booked in for 8:00am for some work to be carried out to get it through the MOT. We came across this garage under 'Halfords' as they are part of their group.\\nI am also suspicious that the work needed cost £160 to pass when it had failed on one issue that had been fixed previously. However, this garage was close and the MOT was due soon so we went ahead.\\nAt 5:30pm, we were told that they couldn't complete the work that day since they didn't get the part in time. This meant that I had another day without the use of my car!\\nI would have expected that since they couldn't carry out the repairs the previous day, they would have prioritised completing the following day quickly. When I rang up, I was told I could not pick up the car until between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. There was no apology forthcoming for the inconvenience they had caused and I didn't get the impression any attempt was being made to provide good service to ensure customers return.\\nEventually the car wasn't available until 5:45pm!\\nWe've learned not to leave getting our vehicle through the MOT until the last moment that you end up using any garage and only use a well recommended company.\\nUPDATE: Although the company left a comment after reading the review, giving the impression they want to address the issues raised, when I emailed them they did not respond therefore confirming that they really don't care!

Best service I've ever received

I have been told that their business model has changed recently, and now they work on comission. For this reason alone - AVOID!My recent dealings with them involved 2 areas of deceit on their end.I booked an MOT and service online. They didn't do the MOT, because they said simply by looking at it it would fail immediately. They argued that a track rod was badly deteriorated and needed to be replaced. Had a look myself, barely even any surface rust on it. The next garage didn't even mention it. They told me I would need to spend £1000 getting it through the MOT. Asked for the report myself, saw that half of that was for an advisory anyway. They never did the MOT, but charged me for it and it took me 4 months to get the money back for it.

Lesson learned, avoid Nation tyre near WingYip and Halfords in purley way!I took my car to do MOT and services to this garage before 11am at 12 of Oct, got a call at about 4pm to ask if I wanted Fuel efficiency pack with 30 pounds extra. I agreed to do them a favour, hoping they could good look after my car. But just before closing time about 5:30pm, they gave me a call, saying both front and back wheel hubs broken, back brake pads worn out, and battery failure, which quoted for around 800 pounds for fix the hubs and replace brake.I was astonished, went to look by myself, could see the front hub was rusty but back hub was new cut. As it was a lot of money, I asked which would fail my MOT? They said it was the brake pads, I said replace the brake first, I would do the hubs later, then they said the wheel could not put it back. As there was end of working day, I said let me consider it, they said you must inform us by 8:30am next day as the car was taking up their working platform.Next day just before 8:30am, I went there to tell them, I will go to get a second opinion, please return the car to me. They said no one was available to put the wheel back for you, just go home and wait until our further notice. Seriously?! I said I would not go without my car. Finally, a guy put the wheels back and drove the car outside for me, in just 5 minutes! Absolutely outrage!I sent the car to another garage, they checked and told me that they broke it while asking you to pay. I decided to call Halfords customer help line, and also emailed them, told them that I did MOT with them last year, and did MOT and service with Halfords autocentre in strafford road last year before, my car had never been touched by other parties apart from Halfords, never got invloved in any accidents...Halfords customer centre always said that they would investigate it, would reply me soon, finally I gave them one week as the deadline, as I need my car for everyday use. But very disappionted, so far I still haven't heard any respond from them. For the battery, I replaced my battery with Halford autocentre in stafford road after using my original battery for 9 years, they told me that it has been failure now, made me double if they really did replace the battery for me two years ago?Now my car was fixed by another garage, with less than 200 pounds (including MOT)!Life should move on, but whenever I recalled this experience, I felt very angry, either for their unethical behaviour, or lack of skills, or both. I felt I could not keep in silence, so to warn everybody here.

Poor communication between lady on the phone and the guys in the garage. I was told I can bring the car in for exhaust fitting a week prior but they were clueless about my request. Waste of time..

I?ve had my car booked in for a diagnostic check. They found out that my turbo has died so i need a new one. I didn?t argue on that i went straight ahead with the new turbo bearing in mind it will cost me £2061?Next day i have called the to ask 100% it needs changing. One of the enginieer has spoken with me on the phone and informed me that my turbo fan is damaged and it needs replacing. I was fine with that information and waited for my car to be repaired. Around 4:45 pm i had a phone saying that my car is ready for collection and my turbo actually doesn?t need to be replaced as they have fixed the issue by cleaning out the turbo and clearing off the engine management light. I didn?t understand how is a damaged turbo could work fine after a simple clean out and i have put the phone down saying that i will collect my car next day and i will take it somewhere else. Next day i have collected my car. One of the staff member has came out and started shouting and threatening me do not put the phone down on him next time, pointing his finger at me. I would like to advise the team that is not customer service at all. Your staff members should never allow themselves to talk to your customers like this. They have serious issues if that?s normal for their garage. Manager was trying to calm the situation down by offering free air-filter. I hope this issue will escalate to further management in the company.

National tyres is a rip off and using inexperienced and unprofessional MOT staff who fails the MOT because the headlamp alignment wasn't correct. This was literally a 5 minutes job but was told that I have to make an appointment which will be after 5 days and have to pay extra £42 for the alignment. They also mentioned on the fail MOT that the car air freshener was blocking the view and also they couldn't check the rear seat seat belt because there was a child seat which wasn't even fitted. That's simply pathetic...I went to a different MOT center and they done the alignment free of charge and I paid again £50 for the MOT. What a cheap tactics to make money from the loyal customers. National tyres should refund my MOT and don't simply just make excuses that they will look into this as we all know such companies, all they say they are SORRY which they definitely are NOT.Avoid National tyres at all cost in the first place. They don't even deserve one star...

Lied and said they could squeeze me in to do some work and were unprofessional in their tone. Then left me sitting in their car park for 20minutes waiting. In the end I just drove off. Never going back there again. I won't pay for bad service and unprofessionalism

I got new tyres fitted from here. The fitter broke the sensors in my tyres so I have a warning signal. I took the car there once, and they tried to charge me for the repair, I had to call the customer line to get support and they advised I take the car back. After seeing them again today, they admitted they broke the sensors in the tyres, they don't get sent sensors, and they don't repair them. My car can't pass it's MOT. I'd be very careful with the fitting and make sure to check your sensors, it will cost you a lot more in the long run. I still haven't got this resolved, it's been ongoing for over 6 weeks now. I would suggest avoiding mobile fitting at all costs. Take your car to the branch.

For years I have been a customer of national tyres. But yesterday the 06/09/2022 I went their to have two new tyres fitted. And the tyres on they changed I wanted to keep as a spares because I was exporting the car they were almost new 7mm of thread left on them. I didn't notice until today my tyres were swapped for some old tyres that had been repaired in the past I went back to national tyres today and spoken to the manager there he was trying to make me out to be some sort of a nut I asked him for the address I could complain to he said find it myself what he doesn't know is bad news travels fast

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!Went here for Mot and service and the mechanic broke a part of the engine housing for my oil filter but told me he had used a sealant to repair it. Just 8 weeks later surprise surprise my car now has an oil leak and I returned to the garage to have them tell me they can't repair the leak and I have to take it to Renault dealer and pay for the repairs! What a joke and this is the 2nd time this garage has given me problems with car as they damaged my brakes in the past!Just an update on this. After emailing my complaint to their head office the issue was resolved fairly quickly. They did apologise and informed me that the garage should have carried out the repair themselves and they were capable of this. However, my Renault dealer carried out the repair at a cost of almost £700 and National Tyres did fully refund this to me.

Incorrect tyre fitted at National Tyres and Autocare 596 Purley Way Croydon CR0 4 RF. I ordered a pair of tyres to fit at front axels of my car and the staff fit two tyres with different models. I discovered one of them is not what I ordered when I pick up my car. Staff tried to make excuse and told me the tyres are in the same specifications but cannot explain why the two tyres are different model. One of them is not the model I ordered. I was told to come back to the centre from tomorrow to replace the incorrect tyre. Complaints raised and I'm not sure will there be anyone to follow up the complaints. I think overall the staff member failed to deliver services in a professional way. Some of the staff member is not honest.
