Rooms were filthy with muddy carpets. Bathroom was disgusting and even the lampshade did not have a bulb. Their rooms ring the bells for multiple health hazards. Don?t use this place.

This hotel is disgusting. It could do with a visit from environmental health. The en suite was filthy. There was so much mould in the shower that it was impossible to use. The lounge was also disgusting. All of the armchairs were either badly stained or were threadbare. There was a spare mattress stood up in there as well. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

A Positive Stay with Great Value and ConvenienceI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kirkdale Hotel in Croydon, and I'm happy to share my positive experience. It's important to note that despite the previous negative reviews, my stay was quite enjoyable primarily for the location of this hotel, free parking, and price.First and foremost, I am not one to leave reviews like this; however, I had realistic expectations for an overnight stay, and the room I stayed in met those expectations. It was comfortable enough for a good night's rest, considering I primarily needed a place to recharge before exploring the town in the morning.The breakfast provided at the hotel was okay-ish. While it may not have been an elaborate spread, it served its purpose and provided a satisfactory start to the day.One significant advantage of this hotel is its affordability. Compared to other hotels in the area, it offers a budget-friendly option, which is highly appreciated. In a city where hotel accommodation prices can be exorbitant, finding an affordable option is truly a gem.Moreover, the availability of free parking was a delightful surprise. Parking in Croydon can be a hassle and quite costly, so having access to complimentary parking at the hotel saved me a considerable amount of money and allowed me to conveniently explore the town and its surroundings using the tram system.The hotel's central location was another aspect that added to the convenience of my stay. With my car safely parked in the free parking lot, I was able to easily hop on a tram to Croydon High Street and explore the vibrant town and nearby areas. This not only saved me money but also provided a hassle-free way to navigate the area.I must also commend the hotel staff for their excellent service during my stay. Their friendly and attentive approach made me feel welcome and added to the overall positive experience.Overall, I genuinely had a positive stay at this hotel, and I believe it deserves a five-star rating. Despite some areas for improvement that I would suggest to the owner, the value, convenience, and attentive staff overshadowed any minor issues. it could be a nice place if it was taken care of? too sad there seems to be no Interest in that by the owners. Very quirky experience.Rooms: Windows not able to close AND LOCK on ground level had us reject the first room given to us. Next room we got had a not quite big enough bathroom door (leaving an opening left and or right) that was rather a scratching than a sliding door.Walkability: It?s a dry place to stay, and in very close proximity to a train ride of 20 minutes into London, so it was means to an end..Food & drinks: Wrong Info about Breakfast time in the lobby left us without Breakfast the first morning, hinting at the sign by the door stating the wrong Time (according to witch we were well in time) resulted in a ?Oh, I?ll have to change that? (which never happened during our stay) Breakfast consists of two slices of toast (cut in halves) , eggs and sausage (not recommended) getting more usually involves walking to the reception to disturb whoever is on duty looking at his mobile phone.

Only the location is good about this place. This is the most awful hotel I ever stayed in! The manager is the worst! I paid for a spa week with all breakfast included and I was lied and refused by a manager to receive my paid breakfast. I had one boiled egg only at 1 morning out of 7 paid! And it was in the most rude manner I've ever seen. My shower was not working many times and at one morning I was promised that the maintenance specialist will come to fix it at 5pm. The stuff completely forgot about me and many hours later I was speaking with the manager and realised that no maintenance specialist will ever come and that he just has to switch the boiler on. I told him that I was waiting 8hours for any news if I'm moving out of the rook or if the prokosed specialist comes to fix it, and no one ever apologised for this situation, nor made up the situation! Curtain in the bathroom was broken, all place was filthy. I never saw manager so disrespectful and lying.I work in the hotel myself and that is not acceptable!

Dirtiest place. Not at all recommended. They are ripoff. The place smells like a dirty toilet. Carpets full of dirty stains. Door handles broken.

The light was on outside of the building could of turned off , there was a gap in the window open blowing a breeze couldn't shut it the noise outside kept me awake through the night , I had to ask for the Internet password should of given that from the start , no full English breakfast, the restaurant had a different time from the week days , in the shower area was broken the hole of the building needs to be updated and painted, car park is on Aberdeen road and it needs a tidy up it was disgusting, would i return back there again NO

The positives: great location for central Croydon, staff friendly, and providing you have no dietary needs breakfast is provided including hot options.Mattresses and broken furniture outside entrance not best start or the rubbish strewn car park including glass.Room was small with a window that wouldn't stay open (no fan) but couldn't be locked either. Tiny TV high on wall, no bulb in lamp and bed hard. Bathroom shelves, toilet roll holder, towel rail sinced removed and no extraction fan.

Awful place. Filthy dirty. Stained walls. Cigarette burns on all the furniture and windows sills. Ground in dirt on the carpets. Sheets were clean and that's the only reason we didn't walk out that and we were only there for one night. Breakfast was included but the was no way on earth we were staying for that.

Not the nicest place I have ever stayed. Could do with a refurb, looks like it was last done was because I was born. When I went for breakfast I asked for everything except bean's. He said so just egg's and toast. I said what about bacon and sausage. He said we don't do bacon and sausage.

Very cold room. No heating in bathroom! Heater in bedroom was stopped at midnight. We could feel the wind through the windows. We left in middle of the night? I will never back there
