I rented my property through this company. I told Best Homes that I do not want someone that is on benefits, have pets of smoked. Apart from that I am fine with their choice. The person they rented to had fake (forged) references that Best Homes did not check out. Within three 3 days of the tenant moving in she contacted me and said that she would not be paying her rent as she was on housing benefit.I contacted Best Homes who told me that she was self-employed and on a good income. It took 18 months and three court hearing to get rid of the tenant. The tenant still owes my over £4000 and Best Homes has washed their hands of the entire affair. The police told me that Best Homes were under a duty of care to check the references (they didn't). My MP sent Best Homes a letter saying that Best Homes were incumbent to pay me the missing money (they didn't).I wish I had never heard of this company.
