Worst customer service i have experienced.
I placed a order for delivery, and the item did not turn up on the day. I received no notification or update. When i phoned the store they told me they have no way of contacting the driver, which is ridiculous. I then phoned up the customer service team, who had no solution, but to go collect the item myself. They said the Streatham branch had my items in stock, but when i arrived they didn't have anything in stock i then had to drive all the way to the croydon branch where i had to wait an hour just to finally receive my item.
I then phoned customer service to receive the delivery fee back and compensation since B&Q cost me an entire day at work because i waited for an item that never was delivered, and i had to drive to two seperate stores to collect. They said i should hear from the store in 24/48hours.. but its been a week and ive heard nothing.
In total it cost me the delivery charge
And one day at work.
No refund.
They clearly haven't got a clue.

Do NOT use this store. Ordered a hose reel that came with none of the attachments needed so is unusable. Due to disability I cannot return it to the store. A month later, today is the second time they have FAILED to collect the item. You can never speak to the people in charge of deliveries when you call. No way of emailing anyone to escalate. Appalling customer service.

While there is a fantastic range of products it never cease to amaze me just how slow the checkout process is for this large store. The self service checkouts are slower than actually manning the tills.
The staff do what they can so this is not a negative review on them.
Just as a while B&Q should look into how they improve their customer journey.
It puts me off coming back here massively.

Arrived to find no trolleys at the entrance to the store. I asked a member of staff on the shop floor if there was any available she said if there are none there then no. I asked if she could possibly arrange for someone to bring some. Her answer was no I'm doing this at the moment and carried on with her work. Not good customer service or a great attitude. She was a middle aged lady with blonde hair and glasses.

I went to B&Q to buy an MDF board specifically because they offer an in-store cutting service. However, after purchasing the board, I was told their cutting machine was broken. I have contacted the store three separate times over the past days/weeks, and it is still not fixed. This is unacceptable for a service they advertise and that customers depend on. It?s frustrating and a waste of time and money. Problems like this are exactly why some customers stop coming back ? if you can?t rely on the basic services you promise, it drives people away.

Visited B&Q Croydon recently and was really disappointed with the service. The queue was very long and moving painfully slow. Several staff members seemed more interested in chatting with each other and standing around than actually helping customers. One even spent the time sucking through their lips while doing very little ? not exactly professional or welcoming. Definitely not the level of service you?d expect from a major high street brand. When we eventually got to the counter with the slip to buy a combi drill we were told it was out of stock. Even though there were shelf edge slips. We were told we?d need to go and select another one. Queue again at the counter and hope the next one was in stock. Needs serious improvement. We went to tool station!

Purchased measure by meter chain. I got 10 meters. The staff member Alma counted and said I have counted 11. So I counted again infront of her as it had already been measured. She agreed this time 10.
I said, see it was 10 awkwardly, you counted incorrectly or were trying to scam me.
She did not care. She said nothing. No sorry.
No apology for the mistake or trying to humiliate a customer. It?s not good customer service. If she needs to count that?s absolutely fine. But she must count correctly, and if she makes a mistake simply say I?m sorry. It?s basic manners.

Some staff working hard and others don't even notice customers exist, and seem to be asleep. Tried to buy mouse traps that were clearly £2, but came up at £4 at the till. Only one lady serving at the tills cared, manager insisted the price was checked but then nobody wanted to do it. After ten minutes I had to take charge or I'd have never left. Honestly, will seek out alternative shops.

I placed an order with B&Q nearly two months ago for Scottish brown pebbles, expecting delivery within five days. Not only did the delivery never arrive, but the follow-up has been an absolute nightmare.
Each time I called to chase it up, I was promised a rescheduled delivery or a call from the warehouse?neither of which ever happened. This happened multiple times. The order was marked as ?returned? without my request, and new order numbers were issued, creating an endless cycle of false hope and no actual progress.
Eventually, I gave up and requested a refund. I was told it would be processed in 3?5 working days. It?s now well past that, and I still haven?t received my money or any explanation.
This experience has involved:
At least four failed delivery attempts
Zero communication from the warehouse as promised
Repeated order cancellations and re-issues without my consent
No refund after all that
Truly the most frustrating customer service I?ve dealt with. B&Q has failed at every step?from logistics to basic communication?and I?m still out of pocket. Avoid if you value your time and money.
