Dirty gym and changing rooms. It?s always overcrowded. Swimming pool is tiny for the amount of demand. I had 12 month contract and after 11 months they charged me £20 more for some reason. Overall would not recommend. Also steam room has minimal amount of steam and heat. I regret joining

Staff are super friendly but at £100 per month this place is a rip off: small gym space, and little equipment on offer eg no smith machine. Insufficient head room for pulls ups. Equipment regularly out of order and during summer months the temperature in the gym was often too hot. Little space to move when busy and few classes on offer.
Clapham Leisure Centre around the corner is 50% cheaper and has way more equipment and space and a much larger swimming pool!

One of the smallest gyms I?ve been to, and for the price that Virgin Active asks, is a complete robbery. Would not recommend, and hopefully they just extended the gym floor or changed location!

I have been going to the yoga classes for years and although the teacher is lovely there?s always big paddles of sweat on the floor from the previous class! Several members have complained several times but cleaning between classes and basic hygiene doesn?t seem to be a concern for the Clapham branch manager!

They stole my watch, they stole my money, they broke my locker while I was taking sauna.
No one of the stuff was caring, better to go on different gym to feel safe!

This gym has serious management problems.
It has a PT studio, but you can't access it in peak times to train with private PT because the management has decided to run classes in it. This would be fine if the gym floor was properly ventilated or air conditioned, neither of which is the case. One even can't open the windows bar a couple.
The manger is almost impossible to reach. I had to leave 4 verbal messages and 2 written messages at various times at the reception desk for him to finally get a call from him. Which by the way, her never actioned on despite giving his word.
And last but not least, I was told if I renew my membership I could get some credit on my account to pay towards goods or a PT session. Every time I tried to use it I was told there is a technical difficulty with the system, and finally I was told there is no credit on my account because I had not committed (!), but will get credit if I do now. Funny, as how else am I a member.
The only reason I'm going to this gym is my fantastic PT. The day he decides to move to a different gym, I'm leaving too.

Very poor value for money. Tiny gym space with hardly any equipment people actually need (always busy). The majority of changing room lockers seem to locked even at opening. Showers are dirty and always smell. Also need to bring your own towel now.

I've been here on and off for three years and it's a decent gym. Staff changes in the last couple months are much improved but fix the damn air-conditioning! It's a sauna in the gym if it's above 14 degrees outside. Unacceptable for over £100 a month.

The worst gym I have ever been to, the company as a whole are so awful to deal with. This branch is constantly having classes cancelled, never any hot water and for the price I think this is completely unacceptable!

I went to Virgin Clapham at its opening time 8 am on Friday 4 April. The club did not open at 8 so after waiting 45 mins I left. NO INFORMATION GIVEN. WHAT WAS THE REASON?

I?ve been a Virgin Active member before, and I have to say that returning has been a great experience. A big part of that is thanks to Taylor, who handled my membership. He provided clear, helpful information and gave me some great tips about the gym, the benefits of the membership, and the other Virgin Active locations.
I was really impressed by his manner ? he was professional yet approachable, which made the whole experience of coming back feel welcoming and positive. I?m really looking forward to making the most of the gym going forward.

I am extremely disappointed with the cancellation process at this Virgin active. I made multiple attempts to contact the team via phone and email, providing all necessary documentation to prove that I am leaving the country. Despite my efforts, I received no response and my phone calls were ignored. After blocking the direct debit payments, I was shocked to discover that my card was charged this morning without any prior notice. To make matters worse, no one has responded to my inquiries regarding this issue. This lack of communication and professionalism is highly frustrating, and I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a transparent and reliable experience.
