Really accommodating for a gluten allergy. Christina and the chefs were very helpful and offered ample choice for dinner and for breakfast. Very reassuring! :-)

Shocking. I can?t believe a company as large as Merlín would allow such an embarrassing restaurant to operate in their own hotel. I can now understand why they charge you as before you eat; I can?t imagine anyone would pay once they?d tried the pathetic food on offer. A selection of roasted meats sounds good at first until you get back to your table and find the beef is so chewy it was inedible and the turkey so dry it resembled cardboard. I took a video of the fish fingers to show how solid they were. You could have knocked nails in with them. They were so dehydrated that there wasn?t actually any any fish left inside! The common factor throughout every dish was that they were stone cold. Not warm, cold. The churros must have come from the same place as the fish fingers. They were solid. We really couldn?t find enough to eat that would have justified the kids price let alone the adult?s ridiculous price. Nearly a hundred quid for five of us including the flat, refillable if you could be bothered, soft drinks. If my review can save even one family making the same mistake that I did I?ll be happy. Merlin and chessington are obviously satisfied with ripping customers off who have already paid a handsome sum to stay in the hotel by their lack of response to any of the bad reviews, of which there are many.

Me and my partner spent the night at the safari hotel and took advantage of also booking to visit the theme park for both days. The room was lovely and clean with a amazing view of the animals. The staff where amazing and helpful and th food was lovely both dinner and the buffet breakfast. We look forward to staying again as a night away.

Had some pancakes here which were like if a cat mixed egg and salt together and one case of an anemic pizza which smelt like when i get my feet out on a long day of walking. Absolutely despicable! Also the watermelon tasted like drinking a pumpkin. Vile.

Not best restaurant. Walked in and the place smelt really bad of sick! So off putting! No table service. Food was very hard / plain wasn?t happy with the choices. Had to go to the bar yourself. Paid £29.50 !!

Terrible.... Wouldn't bother for the money.Unless you like beige food I wouldn't bother. I can see how I would appeal to some families, as an easy quick option.Buffet style, with the usual options for kids, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chips etc. There was also a carvery stand, but the meats weren't of great quality, overcooked and dry.Tables weren't cleaned, even though there was plenty of staff hanging about chatting.Drinks were exuberantly over priced for what they were, but I suppose it's a captive market. If your staying at the hotel, you'd be as well taking a trip into Chessington town an going to a restaurant there.

We've eaten here many times in the past but this time it was filthy. The food was awful. We didn't go back the 2nd night we had a reservation for as iw as actually worried we might get ill. Tables were pile high woth dirty plates and the floor was covered in food. I tried to get some photos but they don't really do how dirty it was justice

Appalling! 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children) stayed for a birthday celebration weekend. We ate in the temple restaurant in the evening. We love buffets and were really looking forward to the meal. We couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was cold. Not luke warm, stone cold frozen, especially all the roast meat and vegetables. When I complained I was simply told, by the lady on the payment desk, "yeah, another customer complained about that too". The staff made no effort to rectify the situation or even apologise. Avoid!

We tried the buffet dinner and it was.....Only the fries, the fruits and ice cream are fine. It caused 20 gbp for adult and 10 for child so you wouldn't expect too much but it was still a bit below expectation.

Paid for a themed room GRUFFALO ROOM which was very good and grand daughter loved it, early entrance to park and que busting ticket all good but what let the experience down was the evening meal. Attitude was find a seat and help yourself, all tables covered in food and crockery not cleared. No plates to be found had to keep chasing the staff for them! Once I got plates the food was awful complained to management, believe it fell on deaf ears Kids running every where, no control by some parents! Could have ended in injury restaurant staff should intervene not me.... Once i complained the que behind me to complain started to build! £600plus spend for one night for my granddaughter to be spoilt, the only thing spoiled was the experience and remembered for all the wrong reasons!! Just buy the day tickets and que buster!! or book a cottage and go on a weeks holiday in the UK!!

Appalling doesn?t even cover it! Dirty tables not cleaned unless staff are nagged, dangerous wet floor from water feature. We sat for an hour having concoction of buffet food whilst the table next to us remained full of dirty dishes, food all over the floor and not a waiter in sight! They claimed that the other hotel restaurant was closed causing overcapacity here but that doesn?t excuse the exorbitant priced food - glorified Toby carvery but at £19 per person!! Hoping the other restaurant is open tomorrow as certainly wouldn?t want to spend a 2nd evening here
