Bought an Xbox Series X which wasn't reading any disks so I took it back for an exchange.Upon explaining this at the counter I was asked if I'd brought a disk with me to test it?Um, No, of course not. Why would I?I wasn't expecting to have to prove my case.Usually the customers word is good enough, what with the hundreds of pounds exchanged and all. At least that's always been my experience at Argos...After that the guy unboxed and plugged in the consol to the massive screen above the counter in an attempt to show everyone that I was lying and the consol worked fine.(Standard procedure at Smyths Toys apparently.)I was then chastised for having factory reset the consol because now the poor paid employee would have to go through the whole setup procedure to prove that I was lying. Requiring more effort.Of course I reset it, otherwise my Xbox account details, email address, payment details etc would still be on there. It would be foolish not to.After 25 minutes of him trying to connect to the stores WiFi he eventually gave up and just exchanged the item....Baffling, time wasting and embarassing.Next time I'll stick to Argos where if you ask for a refund of exchange because the item is faulty, they will give you a refund or an exchange. Imagine that!Rather then go to extreme lengths to prove you're lying or an idiot for the whole store to see.My first and last time using Smyths Toys.Back to Argos from now on.I advise you to do the same.

The Staff were very helpful..they knew exactly where to guide me..store is neatly laid out..and they have abundance of stock..I had a good shopping experience ..thank you ..I will be coming back

Was told to leave the store by security the second we walk in as we are students even though I was going to buy a present for a family member. Would get if they asked us politely to leave the store but was very rude and told us to get out.

Was denied entry because I did not have a parent with me, the worker was rude and shouting to get out. We had just walked in and the worker kicked us out

I visit this branch about twice a year for Christmas presents for the kids and birthdays. I don?t think I?ve ever had an issue here and I?ve mostly always found what I?m looking for.

I have never had problems here before today.Three days before my birthday, a beloved cat died and I came here to buy myself a Snorlax Pokémon squishmallow.I live almost six miles from this smyths and it?s the closest, but I got stuck in bad traffic before arriving due to a breakdown.I walked into the store five minutes before closing and couldn?t find the squishmallow I was looking for.I had to walk around with my sister for three minutes looking for someone to ask for help and waiting for the member of staff at the door to finish the conversation he was having with another customer.At 8:03pm, I asked him if he had any and the response I received was ?yeah, we have loads, but we?re closed now, you should?ve come sooner and you?d have had time to look around more? and he refused to help me.Like I said, I don?t live close and have no time over the next few days to come back.I really hope the customer service improves because now a really horrible week has made for an even worse one.

Parking: no problem.This is the best store.Great Lego collection!Store was nice and tidy in the morning but I can imagine kids messing about!

The store is Huge you can Almost find any toy . But I have to say that their customer service is Amazing specially Mr Eddy guy with long beard he Has too much knowledge about the stuff. 5 stars Because of him.

I have been using smyths toy shop in Charlton for years now I notice the staff there are always kind and helpful. And they always have stock in. Even managed to get the Xbox series X last year and that was like gold dust at the time. Well this year has been no different I wanted to buy my grandson a bike and the Manger there went above and beyond to help me with this. They also had everything in stock on my kids Xmas list making it so easy for me not having to shop around to find them. So if u really looking for stress free Christmas shopping for the kids this year head down to smyths in Charlton SE7 I highly recommend them :)

Whilst pushing my buggy, I got trapped in by a giant ladder at the exit and when calling the security guard for assistance, he was to busy on a personal call to even notice me! The woman at the till had no customer service skills, what so ever!The lady on shift at the baby section of the shop today (Sunday 24th), was absolutely lovely on the other hand. With great customer service skills.And the 2 stars are only for her!
