Very poor customer service

I booked my vehicle in for a free repairs check. Upon collecting it, I was informed that no faults were found. When I asked the gentleman at the front desk for more clarity on what was inspected and whether a road test was conducted, he patronizingly stated that it was only a visual check, and for further information, a diagnostics test was needed. He claimed to be the manager, but his demeanor was rude and blunt, especially towards customers seeking clarification or who may not be as knowledgeable. I referenced the description of the booking, which clearly stated, 'We will inspect the car for any mechanical faults, carry out a road test, and recommend any necessary repairs.' It was evident that no road test was conducted. Later, a technician came out and explained what he had checked on the ramp and mentioned advisories. I am very upset with the standard of service provided by the gentleman at the reception.

Terrible!! Customer service is disgusting. The way the man spoke to me booking my car in & collecting was appalling. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. Shame on you!

DO NOT USE!!I went in for a diagnostic on my power steering and they proceeded to quote me £1750 for 2 components. Along with a £75 charge for a wheel alignment. The customer service was average at best..I firmly said no and went elsewhere for 2 different quotes. The same job was quoted to me twice for no more than £850.. PLEASE tell me where they got almost a £1000 from.Halfords are good for windscreen wipers and an oil change. I CAN NOT STATE IT ENOUGH, DO NOT USE THEIR AUTOCENTER.Complete and utter CASH Cows, ripping you off with poor service and poor quality results by the looks of other reviews."Squirrel brains" from another review is quite accurate..

car went in for new brake pads when asked was told it would be ready by midday .Then waited until the end of the day to inform me that the work has not been completed due to being understaffed and it will not be ready until the next day.

I dropped the company 's van in the morning to make the service and I went in the afternoon to collect it and it was ready. They do MOT and service and I think also repair.

Was referred to Halfords auto centre after Xavier at national tyres had looked at my van which needed a new spring and link( Xavier is fantastic at his job and customer service is a credit to Halfords group and deserves credit for my experience today)Great job done on my Van, it?s so light and really easy to drive now not a problem but one comment I?ll be back to sort out the other stuff as it?s January and I ain?t made off money and this is the worst month to start fixing a neglected Van for a flower pot man, many thanks from both Alan and myself!Alans Plants Garden Centre ( 1 Eglington Hill, SE18) behind the Lord Herbert pub, 47 Herbert Road, Plumstead!Great work, great people and helpful start to finish.

I booked online and went. Lady at the reception asked me if my oil and service indicator is showing up and I said yes. She told me that it cannot be removed unless I buy an internim service because a computer must be connected to it to remove alert. I said ok if that is the only solution. She charged me extra for internim service which i didnt need at the moment. Once I got my car back, I called Skoda service and asked about it. They told me I can easily remove the alert by pressing set button on the dash and press ignition at the same time. So, now I am wondering what other stuff did I was charged just because I trust Halford employees. So, this is a %100 deal breaker for me and there's no need to stay at Halfords anymore.

This are animals in halford suits... either they buy their certificates from baCk door ? or they're just beyond incompetent... I took my car there for fixing loss of power... they spent 2 or 3 days with my car and this squirrel brains ? couldn't fix it... they just kept suggesting me to change expensive things in car ...belt!! Didn't solve the problem!!!cooler bottle!! Didn't solve! Sparks! Didn't solve and other stuff I have forgotten!!!. Costed me over 2k overall!!! Still power wasn't restored!!! They asked me to pick my car and I tried to speak sense to their manager of how unfair it is to use such money and still go home with car the same way I went in minus over 2k... the manager was having none of it because they said they were asking me before changing any part!!!.. yes squirrel head but I was relying on your expertise not guess work that if you change the said part it will bring the solution!! They advised me to take it vauxhall to spend even the little their incompetence had left me!!! On way to vauxhall I decided to pop in a local corner shop mechanic's!!! And with a shock he diagnosed the problem without opening the bonnet!! He just told me to turn ignition on and in less than minute he recommended I buy a part costing 40£ together with labour for 30£ and my car was fixed within 30 min!!! You will expect such professionalism fobthe corneshop mechanic to be with brand such halford!!! But Noooo halfords has got only mechanics to make the company brand as much money as possible ? which may be contribute to high salaries and may be some percentage of some illegally fraudulently earned profit!!! I really hope you stop your staff from suggesting parts to customers with guess work... but to use expert and experience like mechanic in cornershop garage to offer great serviced to customers.NOT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF VULNERABLE CUSTOMERS WHO GOT NO CLUE OF WHATS HAPPENING WITH THEIR CAR!!!!... AVOID THIS CERTIFICATES SQUIRREL HEADS AT ALL COST AND GO TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE GAINED THROUGHYEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND DESIRES TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH CARE AND NOT LIKE CASH COWS AT THEIR DESPERATE HOUR!

Great customer service at the center. They are understanding and helpful. Got my issue sorted quickly. Can't say the same for the Gravesend store, Charlton service is far better. Beats the gravesend halfords 10 to 1.

If it was possible to leave a -5 star, I would. These people are crooks who don?t know what they are doing, DO NOT use them for anything to do with your brakes. They use cheap quality brakes to replace your brakes and charge premium prices. My brakes have been squeaking since the first day they replaced them. Despite my numerous complaints and returning to them numerous times to change the ?brakes for life? the exact same results the very next morning.I WISH SOME ONE LEFT THIS REVIEW BEFORE I USED THEM, PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY, SAVE YOURSELF STRESS.Service: Brake service & repair

Visited Halfords Charlton this morning to have a couple of bulbs changed,and to get advice regarding a problem with the new E10 petrol. As with a lot of other motorists, this "new" petrol is causing fuel system issues such as misfiring, stalling, and gumming up of fuel injectors. The young fellow who assisted me was 100% in every way. A good listener, polite, VERY knowledgeable, and an absolute credit to Halfords. All in all, a very productive visit. We'll done.

Had a couple of tyres fitted for my Dad?s car, guys were all great. Couldn?t find the locknut so they gave me some options, managed to find it so they fitted me in the following morning which was good.Shops are round the corner so popped in to buy a couple of things whilst they sorted the car, was done quicker than I expected. I booked everything online and was easy to do.
