Great selection of items. Always a little but special and different from other supermarkets

Don't buy sandwiches from this store! I bought a cheese and onion one a few ago and the filling was meagre and tasteless. Thought I was unlucky so bought a prawn mayo one
today and again the filling was meagre and tasteless. On top of that, the bread was stale, even though the use by date is tomorrow!!! Go to M&S or Tesco, sandwiches there are nicer and cheaper!

This store offers a great selection of food, but it?s becoming increasingly common to find empty shelves, particularly in the fresh produce section.
Most staff are helpful especially the juniors but a few regular senior employees are unhelpful at best and can be outright rude?especially toward customers who need assistance. I?ve witnessed several incidents at the self-service tills where they appear disengaged and indifferent. It?s disappointing, as they should be setting a positive example for younger team members, but instead, their attitude creates a poor impression.
**The Biggest Problem: Unfair Parking System**
The road leading to the store (next to the police station) is a parking trap. A camera at the entrance automatically assumes any car entering is parking along the road, resulting in unjust fines. The evidence provided only shows your car entering?not actually parking.
The system is supposed to cross-reference with Waitrose?s cameras to cancel fines for legitimate shoppers, but it fails frequently. I?ve been a victim myself and had to rely on credit card statements to prove I was shopping there.
Complaining to the Bromley Waitrose store is pointless?they recognise the issue but offer no real help. They don?t even bother to gather evidence to see how this is affecting the shoppers. Additionally, it?s unclear how Waitrose is allowed to share customer data with third parties in this process.
There is no warning about this issues in store.
If you shop here:
- **Keep your receipts** (or take a photo of them).
- **Use a credit card** for traceable proof of purchase.
- **Be prepared to fight unfair parking tickets.**

The recognizable branded products are on display, but don't expect the service and assistance with enquiries that fulfils the brands promise, you'll be disappointed.

Always love shopping in Waitrose

Not sure what?s going on at this branch of Waitrose. The team are reluctant to help , they do it but the service comes with a really bad attitude.
They will probably say they are sick of dealing with the GP. But then you need to get a different job. They never smile , have no idea how to give customers service, almost annoyed at you bothering them. Miserable doesn?t even cover it.
I am now shopping elsewhere as had enough of paying high prices for a rubbish service.

If you try to go to this store you get fined. So best to go to Sainsburys or Tesco.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received on Friday, 17 January, at approximately 19:00. I was served by a blonde lady, who I estimate to be in her 50s (please forgive me if my judgement is incorrect). I have often seen her working over the counter in the meat, fish, or cheese section.
On this occasion, I came to purchase some breaded haddock from the fish counter. The lady was in the process of cleaning the meat and fish section when I arrived, and I respectfully waited for her to finish while deciding what to buy. During this time, she engaged in a brief conversation with a colleague before approaching me to take my order.
When I politely asked for breaded haddock, her visible annoyance surprised me. Initially, I wasn?t sure why she seemed irritated, but I realised later that the top of the scale had already been placed in the open dishwasher with other dirty, unwashed items as part of her cleaning routine. She retrieved the top from the dishwasher without sanitising it, put it back on the scale, and proceeded to serve me.
What I found most concerning was how she handled the fish. She used a piece of clear bag, which other staff members usually use to weigh raw fish (I sometimes buy raw fish there as well), but still touched the fish with her hand. She then placed the fish directly on the dirty scale without using any protective barrier, such as foil, a bag, or a paper box, which I have always seen other staff members use. Is it not a rule to put breaded fish directly into a paper box? I have bought breaded fish many times, and it was always served this way. Once she had weighed the haddock, she transferred the fish into a paper box with the same lack of care, touching it again unnecessarily.
This handling of food was unhygienic and entirely below the standard I have come to expect from your store. The sight of this made me lose my appetite, and I decided against purchasing anything further, including the breaded cod I had initially intended to buy.
It was my birthday, and this way of service completely destroyed my evening and my evening meal. I really believe that you will take into consideration the way this lady works. If she doesn?t enjoy working over the counter, I am sure there are other roles in the store where she might feel more comfortable and perhaps happier. She genuinely appeared unhappy with the work she was doing. I have only one question for her: Would she be happy to be served this way?
I hope you can understand my frustration and disappointment. I trust that this matter will be taken seriously, and appropriate action will be taken to ensure better hygiene and customer service in the future.

They've upped their game recently and fresh fruit & veg shelves are largely stocked. Could do better on stock rotation

New parking restrictions on the access road mean I have received a £100 fine while using the access road to Waitrose car park to do my shopping. I am now having to go through all the hoops of an appeal process and it?s not certain the charge will be overturned.
I can see from other reviews that I am not the only one and that Waitrose view this as a matter for the Met Police and Britannia who operate the scheme. I disagree and think Waitrose should be actively working to protect the experience of their customers using the store.
I won?t be back until I can be sure I won?t receive a random fine for using the access road to the car park.
Come on Waitrose this must be hurting your business and is making your customers? lives miserable!

Sadly in light of the recent parking control measures introduced to the "Bromley Police Station Access Road" (the only entry / exit to this store's car park), shoppers are likely to receive a £100 fine (reduced to £60 for prompt payment) from Britannia Parking
Various posts on social media suggested this was for the access road only and to alleviate (some of) the chaos associated with not having a dedicated area for pick up / drop off at Bromley South - but my recent experience suggests you will risk a fine for parking in the Waitrose Car Park at the end where the bike racks & recycling points are
I have stopped buying my groceries at this store as a result...

This branch is getting tired and shoddy and is crying out for a major refurb. Compare it with the cool and contemporary look and feel of the nearby M&S Food Hall in Bromley town centre. Or indeed the Waitrose in Beckenham which is head and shoulders above this one. The saving grace here is the staff. Generally excellent and professional (apart from some of the younger ones who are glued to their phones thinking nobody's watching them).
