Overcrowded, outdated , underfunded and bad staff.
Cleaning staff are just useless, receptionist rude. My wife complained about a man who?s always not wearing a tshirt and leaves sweat all over every machines he uses, the staff said that wasn?t an issue.
The spa facilities are awful and clearly haven?t been improved since the venue opened, will be cancelling me and my wife?s membership at the end of this month.

Decided to move to David Lloyd recently and it is so much better.
Was paying £102 at this spa and it just felt like a blast from the past, no investment or improvement in absolutely years and really is not worth the price.
I suggest everyone has a trial day at David Lloyd?s in sidcup or Beckenham and you?ll be amazed how bad Virgin compares.

There seems to be a new trend of 1 particular person training and walking about with his top of twice in 2 days which I find irritating and a little unhygienic as he's using all the benches and machinery so I went down stairs to ask one of the senior staff if this was allowed and to my surprise I was told yes unfortunately so I said everyone in this gym is allowed to train with no top on then and I was told yes what a sight that would be everyone walking about with no top on.
Would this be allowed in david loyds I doubt it.

A good range of classes and gym equipment. They've raised the fees twice so far in the year I've joined, which I will continue to pay as I need the gum for my health and wellbeing, but the level of customer service does not reflect the raise in fees. Staff never answer the phone if you choose the option for members; only if you choose options for joining. The app regularly glitches so if you need to cancel classes it doesn't work then you are penalised if you miss the class because you can't cancel. If you need to complain you can't. You call are put on hold for an average of 30 mins only to be told they can't process complaints. I can't speak to a manager directly and if you do complain over the phone no one follows up. Then there are the classes. Reformer pilates classes have greatly been reduced and it's like playing hunger games to get onto a class and some of the reformer teachers act like you are trying to get into an exclusive nightclub and not like you are a playing member. I was denied entry to a reformer class because I to pee just before the class. There are no toilets upstairs so had to run down into the changing room wait to use the toilet then run back upstairs only to be told I couldn't not attend at it was 3 mins after the class had started. This is ridiculous. Between the diabolical customer services and the Hunger Games-style race to get unto classes I wouldn't recommend virgin active Bromley.

Great club. Friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Has classes that fit around my shift work. Modern equipment.
Sometimes is overcrowded and hard to park.

Want to pay a premium price for a horrible experience?
Want to queue for a machine or be watched intensely by the next person who is waiting for your equipment?
Want to have 'gymfluencers' record themselves while you're mid set? (and you're in the background so you report to a manager who says they can't do anything..)
Want to not be able to park your car because huge SUV's take up 2 parking spaces? (on purpose)
How about men working out topless and bare foot?
Dirty, broken equipment that is unsafe to use?
I have tried my fair share of gyms in London over the past 7 years and this takes home the prize for worst experience every time. It is beyond overcrowded, teens congregate in their groups holding up equipment while on their phones, the women's changing rooms are littered with old nappy's and screaming children, the latest gym influencer will be recording their reps on their phone - taking up more time and space so you can't use surrounding equipment, the toilets never have toilet roll or a decent level of cleanliness. The list goes on.
Despite what is meant to be a 'premium' club, everything about Virgin Active Bromley is a sub-par, lack lustre experience. It is hard to put into words the general negative vibe/energy that hums on the gym floor but it is definitely there and uncomfortable. There is no sense of community, just fragmented, intimidating hordes of people who are staring intensely to the next person who's gym equipment they want to use next.
Sadly, all of the above feedback has been shared with the Club, but no improvements have been made. It appears they are content to continue accepting new memberships and increasing revenue, without investing in the facilities or limiting membership numbers to ensure current members have a good workout. Avoid like the plague and go to David Lloyd for a little extra money.

I?ve been a customer for nearly 4 years, but this branch has become a disaster. No management, no ownership, no customer-focus. I?ve advised about my cancellation around 60 days before the end of the contract and then again around 30 days before the end of the contract. They said it was all ok, but when the end day arrived, boom, my bank account was debited incorrectly. The centralised customer services says it?s the branch to resolve the problem and refund me, the branch receptionists are unable to provide me with a response. Terrible customer service.

It?s sad that I had to end up posting here because I have left a couple of feedback via the app but were never followed up.
I will list here few things that deserve attention:
1- Towels. Last time happened 4 times in a week that run out of towels. I understand that issues might happen, but how is it possible they don?t have a back up? They should always have a reserve stock.
2 - Information. The information you get from customers service are different from the reality; before joining I have asked how many guests pass and they told me 3, but when joined were 2; I was told that I could have booked and cancel the Crescè for my son via the app, when I joined they told me that it?s not possible. Also, 90% of the times you asked something at the reception the answer is: ?I am not too sure?. Once, on the same day of the booking, I asked to cancel the crescè because my son was unwell and I was told that was not a problem and I wouldn?t have been charged but when I checked with the V Club I was told that I had to pay anyway.
3 - Shower area. Extractor above the entrance of the steam room is filthy and never cleaned; shower gel dispenses most of the times are empty and the toilets upstairs are dirty and smelly.
4 - Pool; the hot shower next the hydro pool Is scorching hot and when reported they told me that?s its fine like that. It?s impossible to put my son there and should be a TMV, but clearly there isn?t one? Website says that family swim weekends is until 18:45 but yesterday (Sunday), at 6 pm we were kicked out because they said it?s in a poster in the pool. Fine, but update the website to avoid people coming and then have to leave after 5 minutes.
I feel bad sharing this but it is frustrating when you have to report an nothing it?s done. Also, the app keeps sending notifications for feedback every time you train but then what?s the point to spending time to write and nothing it?s happening.
I understand how challenging can be customer service and I still like the club, but for we pay I would expect more.

I use the swimming pool 4 days a week. I go about 10am so it?s not too busy. Only problem with that is Aqua starts at 10:30 and the music is very loud!!!
Apart from that everything is good.

Rowdy place but facilities are ok.

Did not work for me and my son at all.
I booked the membership right after we moved to the area. But our experinces both were mostly negative.
Main purpose for me was using their sauna and steam room while for my 5y.o. to go swimming classes.
It turned out that sauna is just slightly warm, you never get there what you expect from proper Scandinavian or Alpine sauna. The steam room is better but tiny and always packed. Also no running water to refresh the stone. You have to seat where dozen of other people sat before you some naked which is fine but I would love to splash the seat with water before take a seat myself.
The swimming classes for kids are 30 min only and no gap between them so children finishing and coming and parents of both bump into each other. Normally it should be 10-15 min gap so if any questions or anything, it does not take time from each other.
Also some really awkward moments with cleaning personnel there I do not want to go into details but it should not be at all.
Meantime facilities are old / run out and not well maintained. The shower cabin I used often has one knob missing for almost a whole year.
Also, constant cleaning issues despite the personnel are there present all the time - empty bottles everywhere, always in the shower cabins, sometimes in the lockers, also personal items often left behind in the lockers, etc. Very strange attitude or unknown traditions of the local population.
Despite all the issues - very busy place, peak hours not easy to find a parking.
