The food shop is phenomenal. Love all the European products. Also the random stuff in the middle isle keeps me buying stuff that I don't need but have to have.

Dear Lidl Brixton after today i will take my money elsewhere! Sainsbury's and Tesco treat their CUSTOMERS just like CUSTOMERS. Honestly... If I need a BAD shopping experience I'll be back. ?

Today, I visited LIDL in Acre Lane Brixton. I have rarely visited this branch, and I have been to many a LIDL across the globe. Indeed the branches in the UK are the worst- in the sense of variety etc. I shop at a variety of supermarkets. I note this because I find the security guards ( majority) & staff at LIDL (not all) to be the worst specifically the security guards. They tend to be rude, thuggish and intimidating- I have seen them do this with many a customer - abusing their menial positions of power. FYI I reported my experience to LIDL customer services. For the first time today an incident happened to me something that I can say I have never encountered - aside from the general lack of professionalism and common courtesy I have never encountered such an incident - I endured discrimination today on a grand scale, racially and otherwise- to point out I am from Israel, I could be mistaken for Italian, Spanish etc , I had been born and raised in the UK. I work in marketing and consider myself a civilised human being. I entered the store , it had been busy I was looking around for a basket and the security guard had been handing out baskets as they were scarce and customers were searching he asked if I wanted a basket I was surprised at the helpfulness !! I popped in for some Christmas decorations and some fruit- I wasn?t intending to do a large shop ( never do in LIDL) , then I answered oh yes please just a small basket please as I don?t need the larger one on wheels. He then responded to my utter shock - ? oh you are big ? you need the bigger one? he said swiftly with an expression full of malice & a smirk on his face that was really creepy! He handed me the basket- I then asked what did you just say to me and why may I ask you felt the need ? I said how incredibly rude you are! - I asked him what has my weight status got to do with my basket ? Ironically this man was very overweight and had a huge beer belly- I don?t like to mentioned appearance but it?s valid here. He was very large - I?m overweight but not obese ( I would say in medical terms ) I asked for his name and he refused- I said how dare your say that to me and how rude, and what a bully you are he refused to give me his name, I tried to look at his lanyard but couldn?t see it clearly. He was rather shocked that I responded to him- he thought I would accept his comment & move on. His expression was like how dare you question me for insulting you! He was shocked , I said to him - well I don't think u r in a position to be commenting on anybody?s appearance given your current state and I referenced his protruding abdomen ! I took the basket and made my way - I made my selections and carried on to the till - (not self check out) the security guard then made another appearance whilst I was waiting to pay , I said to him in front of everyone I?m going to report you- you are a bully. I don?t need your name to report you. A customer in front of me asked if I was okay and what did he say to me, as he could see my distress-the customer then said yes I agree they behave like thugs and they are all like that in these stores. We agreed it was an abuse of power and after our discussion it was my turn, it turned out the security was guard was talking to the cashier via their headsets whilst I was waiting to be served - the man at the till threw my shopping down the belt at me , and proceeded to laugh and make faces with thsecurity guard. I remained calm and ?civilised?( LIDL take note) & took my shopping. I then found the security guard waiting at the front of the shop- I repeated again that?s fine I don?t need your name and that he shall be reported. The security guard hurried inside and as he was walking he said ? I don?t know you, go back to where you came from ? . This comment is what affected me the most, he was a large (medically obese to medical standards)& unfortunate looking, the worst is that he made a racially prejudice remark and guess what he was African/ Nigerian(?)! I said so you are a bully & a racist! LIDL- stop hiring

They need to work on the store standards. Some food products have also become really lacking in flavour recently.Issues also with out of date drinks?

Was looking for something specific. Couldn't recommend the staff anymore. They were so nice and friendly. I'll be back again. Give those fabulous women a raise! They were a fabulous representative of good customer service. You can't teach that

It's okay, in fact it's a bit of a rebel, a non-conformist, if you like. It doesn't follow the usual layout of the many other Lidl's.It's like Tooting, already a bit different from all their brothers and sisters, thought it would be nice to have a friend with somewhat eclectic tastes become part of the family. And while it's nice to be different (there's nothing wrong with being different) it can be a bit confusing for strangers who are used to the particular eccentricities of other family members.Tooting and Brixton break the mould......a bit.

I have been shopping at this store twice and I have had same issue at the till that products that were on offer were actually not on offer. So today I have grabbed some chicken for 1.45£ and at the till price was 2.45£ for 1kg, I have snapped pictures etc. Lady at the selfcheckout was sitting and pretending that she is not there to help I did approach her in nice and polite way she was behaving in very rude way to me, she called her colleague to help to find out price for me, they called me to show me that the price tag has fallen, but nobody came across nice nor to apologise. I explained to Lidl assistant that this is not my mistake and it is s taking so much of my time to have this experience over and over again as the very same situation has happened already at the very same store to me just recently. Well I returned back to selfcheckout to continue with my shopping and another item popped up on regular price as a customer of Lidl I do use vouchers and as I was buying stuff that should be discounted automatically through my Lidl account again item that was on offer didn't come up like discounted so again same situation, I was sent by rude lady that actually stated to create an argument in front of other people, but from self-checkout to normal till, lady called her colleague again, in the end I refused to buy the item, its too much time consuming to buy something in this store, never seen staff behaving this way especially in Lidl and this is my first bad experience as a Lidl customer. Why they overcharge customers? I don't understand and I don't think it's legal either. Hope this will improve and customer service will be more priority than before. Appreciated.
