We stayed at Travelodge London Bethnal Green from 26 to 30 July 2025. The room was extremely hot with no air conditioning or ventilation, which was not made clear at booking. My husband?s asthma was triggered during our stay and the flare-up is still ongoing. He has now been referred to a respiratory clinic and for a CT scan.
Communal areas were also consistently unclean and poorly maintained. We raised these issues multiple times with Customer Services, on 31 July, 8 August and 19 August, and escalated to the CEO office today, yet have received no substantive response.
It is disappointing that a chain with Travelodge?s reputation would allow this level of discomfort and lack of engagement. We hope they address these issues seriously.

We booked a 3 day stay in a super room during a very warm period in August.
The corridors were unbearably hot, thankfully there were fans in the room that cooled the room down sufficiently to be comfortable.
It?s sold as being on a quieter floor but I wouldn?t say it is. We left the windows open at night as it was so warm so there was some noise from the main road outside but it was the constant plumbing sounds throughout the night that kept me awake.

The rooms are hot and only 3 fans

If you?re looking for a hotel experience that combines the soothing hum of traffic with the gentle rumble of passing trains ? all without the luxury of air conditioning ? then look no further.
Travelodge Bethnal Green offers an authentic ?sleeping-by-the-side-of-a-motorway? ambience that you simply can?t replicate elsewhere.
For those who enjoy sleeping with the window closed in a stuffy room, or open to welcome in the full symphony of London transport noise, this is the place for you.
Noisy as hell, and as hot as hell in the room!

Room was small and basic but was good enough for the night we stayed no complaints with the hotel. Friendly staff quite secure as main door needs opened with room key after 10pm. Could do with an information board when you first walk in as we didn?t know where reception was at first. Staff very friendly, bar open 24/7. Area isn?t great doesn?t give the best vibe but felt safe enough when in the hotel.

Never again!!! The room temperature was unbearable, I told them straight away my kids can?t bare this heat , reception staff were so rude, they said am I blind can?t I see I chose a no ac hotel? And how I chose no parking hotel, they said that?s how you got to stay the night the way it is. There is litter in the roof, and the rooms were filthy, cannot believe I even paid for a upgraded version of the room and how bad it was
The worst hotel I?ve even been to in my entire life . Please guys think before booking here specially with kids

Noisy small room, no service

Rooms are boiling hot. We stayed in July, but it was cool outside, and the halls and rooms were like being in a sauna. Theres no air conditioning, and the fan in the room does almost nothing.
Really hard to sleep. Avoid if you can

I recommend choosing your room to ensure getting a parkside view, as most rooms face the sides which are like a driveway gap to the next building.

We've stayed on the 6th floor. The room was clean and spacious but it was extremely hot, the corridors as well. We would wake up several times at night because of the high room temperature. There is no air conditioning. The TV is very small.
The carpet close to the bathroom was soaking wet the whole 4 days we stayed there.
The breakfast gets 6 out of 10. Not varried.
The card keys for the room work for 14 hours tops and each time we got back to the hotel in the evening we had to get new ones.
One of the 2 lifts was broken for days and sometimes we had to wait more than we should have.
The quality of some people that stayed in the hotel was low, they talked in very loud voices and some left their shoes outside their rooms' doors.
The neighbourhood is poor and dirty.
The staff was nice and helpful.
There is a supermarket nearby and an underground station 4 minute walk from the hotel.

This travelodge seems better managed than a usual travelodge. The checkin was super quick and stressless, friendly receptionists. The room had its window open with a fan turned on as it was a hot day, usually a travelodge would not care. The room was clean, breakfast was good. Downside obviously is 50meters away from a busy train line.

Excellent location. Right by the tube station. Bus stops also nearby.
Spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Very quiet room
Lovely breakfast
Staff were lovely, especially Will

Dirty, smelly with stains on carpet and furniture, room was like an oven with no ventilation, a small but loud fan that only blows already hot air from the room around, no aircon and the hotel is placed next to the train tracks, so it was quite noisy. Worst night in a hotel in my life, stay well away from this one
