Reading through the reviews it's mad how little has changed. Got to the point that I absolutely avoid this place to escape having to wait 10 mins + for any approvals on the self checkout. Not to mention that if you line up for the till instead they will complain that you could have gone to the self checkout and waited. Do better.

Rude, obstructive and confrontational. I was refused a refund by an employee called Siddik on the basis that I didn?t have the item with me (it was a packet of strawberries that had gone moldy) and that it wasn?t purchased at that branch - despite the fact that Sainsbury?s returns policy makes it very clear that items can be returned to any branch, and that perishable items can be refunded on the basis of a photo rather than the item itself. It was a really unpleasant encounter with three employees crowded round while he spoke to me. The refund was then immediately provided by the telephone call centre who I contacted afterwards and who confirmed I was right in my understanding of their return policy.

If I could leave ?0 stars? I would! Today we visited this store to obtain a money wallet for a last minute Christmas gift. The store did not sell these so we attempted to leave. The security guard, as shown in photo in the previous review, racially profiled my husband accusing him of stealing and told him to empty his pockets! This all happened before we had even left the store, to sound an alarm, to alert him of possible theft! The security guard, Momin, had apparently ?seen him stealing something on camera? but refused to declare what he had stolen after being asked numerous times! The dispute turned very loud on the shop floor, alerting the store manager Scott, who approached to aid the situation. My husband refused to empty his pockets and we told Momin to call the police instead. Scott eventually led Momin to rewatch the CCTV. Momin returned with a smile, a chuckle and a weak/fake apology after seeing he hadn?t stolen anything! He was reluctant to provide his name when asked, as I told him we would be making a formal complaint. His ID badge was not displayed correctly. It was backwards and not visible. His name was provided by the store manager but his surname was not known?! When Scott was advised to ensure his staff display their ID correctly I was informed he is not a member of staff but a sub-contractor. My husband was racially profiled, stereotyped and publicly accused of theft! This caused distress and embarrassment . This is not acceptable! This is not how anyone should be treated! We have made a formal complaint. We have requested an investigation take place and appropriate action be taken! This is not acceptable and I can assure you it will not be tolerated! Disgusting behaviour!

I?m seriously fed up with this supermarket! Every single week, it?s the same ridiculous situation: no eggs, water, milk, bread?nothing! It?s a filthy mess in there, and the staff act like they?re doing us a favor just by showing up. How on earth is this place still in business? It?s beyond me!One star as I wish I could give none

Bad customer service. Staff just stand around or go missing whilst customers are stuck waiting for approvals. Saw one staff member just buying their lunch watching other customers wait for an eternity. They didn't bother helping or asking a colleague to help... why would they? Absolutely zero awareness or care for customers. They are lucky the nearby Tesco is almost as bad.

Customer service is terrible. Shopping assistants chatting with each other, don't care about customers. Rude and unprofessional.

I had 2 different pastries in a single bag and could not input both at the same time because of the weighing procedure everyone has to do everytime you scan an item. I didn?t want to use my hands to grab the other pastry from the bag in order to match the weight (for sanitary reasons) and tbh I actually did not think of that in the moment. However, this does NOT give your staff (specifically a female staff, I don?t remember their name) the right to condescendingly comment about using my common sense when I asked for help. First of all, how is it appropriate for a customer service staff to have this sort of attitude when serving customers. Second of all, who are you to question me and my way of doing things? I was not breaking the rules or anything, I hope there will be thorough correcting in the staff?s conduct and attitudes in the future.

Manager saw me scan a redbull. But then she decided to walk away so I?d have to wait for age verification which took more than 7mins waiting. I went up to the tills, said I?m waiting for verification but then was ignored as she was occupied with breaking cardboard boxes instead of prioritising the customer. Was left confused so I decided to leave my items at the scanners as they have no care in doing the simple basics.

I returned my jacket on a Sunday at 8pm and the duty manager was very kind enough to assist me even though he was busy supervising the tills. He was very efficient, professional and friendly. Well done!

One of the staff was extremely rude to a young girl who came in wearing a dressing gown. She loudly told her (so other customers could hear) that they're called night clothes not day clothes and to "have a standard"

No staff around and what i think was a security guard staring at people and smoking blocking the entrance, claim to have fresh bread but no baguettes were visible at 9.30am Sunday morning, this place needs to pull its socks up.
