I think the south bank branch of Pizza Express is my favourite. The best GF pizzas in town and the staff are always pleasant and efficient. However this time they surpassed themselves. Yesterday I accidentally left my mobile phone behind. When I went back some three hours later the manager had not only put it in the office for safety but had put it to charge as the battery was very low ?

Staff were lovely and gave us prompt service, seat was comfortable. Lighting was soft and music quiet.. In fact the perfect ambiance for dining. However, the issue for us was the quality of the food, especially the pizzas. The classic base pizza we ordered was piping hot but had no crispiness, like you'd expect from oven baked pizza, and it was bland and floppy (like a cheap microwave pizza).. It lacked flavour somehow. Reminded me of a supermarket value range. The Romano base pizza was very dry when it arrived, lacked toppings and had lots of dry gaps, not enough cheese, but it did have a crispy base. Neither had any herbs or touches of quality. The chicken salad was acceptable, but again a bit bland, dry and needed more dressing.. And was a bit small for a main course. All three meals in fact were disappointing and left us unsatisfied. We expected more from Pizza Express. Additionally we were not offered any olive oil, chilli oil parmesan or black pepper (the usual you expect with an Italian meal). Everything felt cheap, cutback and lacking in quantity. Have honestly had better pizza at Wetherspoons!

Waiter was friendly and food was OK however my son, who is 1, is very poorly with a gastro bug picked up from your dirty highchairs. Please please disinfect them correctly and wipe tables properly.

Very efficient and friendly with excellent service, good food and a pleasant experience pre-theatre.

Had an okay experience here. Our waiter middle aged tall man was rude and made comments about only having desert(which we are entitled to)he also insulted us when we said we wanted to share. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable and is disappointing to hear such comments. We won?t be returning again.

A stalwart of restaurants in the SE1 Bankside area. Not without competition. You have to book ahead in the early evening. Pizzas - all food - well done - not at the cutting edge (hah!) but solid tasty fare. At busy times it is organised chaos but most staff friendly and reasonably quick. Allow 15-20 mins longer than you think you need if you have a show to catch locally. We keep going back - now over 30 years! An institutional habit. In 2024 pizzas are £15 each and cheapest wine £20 per bottle. But that's Central London after 2 years of inflation for you! Can be very noisy at peak times.

We were greeted by Igkli and told him we only had an hour before we had to be away. He ensured we received our food in time - in fact we had 20 minutes to spare! His service was exemplary.

A very beautiful and atmospheric place to eat, with great food to come with it. Compliments to team. I usually come here when i?m finished up with university and it?s always a treat.

Never received my dessert as part of my delivery order (or was stolen by the Uber driver, who was also very rude and confrontational when delivering my food). Now customer service is refusing to provide me my refund.

A famous pizza restaurant offers the most beautiful pizza for the restaurant, with memories that are dear to my heart. Every time I have eaten in London, it has pizza margherita and tuna?

Great atmosphere to chill and eat. The only downsides about this place is, they don?t seem to have enough waiters and waitresses. So you kind of have to wait for a while to even make an order. But the pizza was quick though. Took about 5 mins to come. The pizza was basic for the price tag. You can get better ones elsewhere.

Food is consistent.Service is usually good, but it depends on your table and server and how well staffed the shift is.The interior here would benefit from more sound-absorbing features.People bring their children which can't be avoided, but recent seatings have worked to seat us away from groups with children.Good gluten free offer, including a gf Peroni.Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free offer, including gf Peroni (lager).

I got a takeaway from this pizza express and when I arrived back at my hotel nearby about 5 minutes after being handed the pizzas I discovered that both pizzas were cold and had been when they were handed to me. One of the pizzas had also not been cut up and as I was staying in a hotel room I was left to tear it up with my hands into slices.

Useful location for a quick meal before national theatre shows. My main complaint was that they seemed under staffed when busy and the poor waiter in our section was having to rush between tables in our section. ?as a bit of a wait to order for reasons mentioned above but waiter was helpful and knowledgeable on the menu so was a quick process. After ordering food was served quickly and was tasty so no complaints on that. Although there seemed to be space at 17:45 on a Thursday for walk ups I would recommend booking to ensyou have a table as it is a busy area on the southbank. Also worth getting the App and you'll probably get some deals on Pizza or a free starter.
