The Scottish lady is too much ! Being friendly is one thing but this is taking ?too friendly? to the point of annoying and unnecessary. She is like a shop keeper from Royston Vasey , ?ooh isn?t that nice. Ooh that?s lovely?? which goes on for far too long holding the queue up. She may not realise it but she is also condescending, ?oh All Saints , that?s very expensive new you know??, ?oh Diesel - these are designer jeans you know. My son wears them?. Does she think the customers are fashion-illiterate backwards oiks who have never set foot in a major high street. Or perhaps even seen the brand on line. People don?t necessarily shop in charity shops because they are in stricken poverty and have no education. Many simply want to spend their money on holidays and other activities when they know finding quality cheap clothes can be fun. More to the point though she tried to assert her posit to lie to me. An item I bought was very grubby. It was the same price as clean excellent condition items I bought. I politely asked if it could be reduced slightly being as it was the same price yet much poorer condition as the other items. She tried the old trick of ?but it?s second hand ?. Well so we?re the other items and the pricing justification does not hold up. I then pointed out that the white of the label was discoloured from wear against a grubby neck and not washed / or stained. She lied and said ?you won?t find any labels in here that are clean white?. This is categorically a lie. The other items I bought at the same time were excellent unsullied. I don?t understand why charity staff have to resort to lying when they are corrected and proven wrong. If you don?t want ti discount the item then I will accept it. I?m not asking for a random ?give me a discount?. I?m making an accurate like for like comparison. If no discount is Ri be given then let?s move along. There is no need to attempt to cover up your feeble justification with outright lies. I have worked in the garment and fashion industry all my life. I don?t need to be educated about ?designer? brands by a do-gooder busy body.

An elderly and disabled neighbour of mine was treated very disrespectfully by the manager at this store when she attempted to return a defective pair of (£6.50) shoes recently. She was dismissively waved away and told to "Go back to the Bromley branch where you bought them". Classy attitude Cancer Research UK! Apart from any moral duty to be respectful to the elderly and infirm, you have a legal duty to make reasonable adjustments to your policies for people with disabilities - Equality Act 2010.
