A Nightmarish Experience at Barking Halfords AutocentreI recently had the misfortune of visiting Barking Halfords Autocentre for my car's MOT, and the experience was nothing short of a customer service nightmare. The staff's primary goal seemed to be extracting as much money from me as possible, leaving me utterly disappointed and frustrated.First and foremost, their attempt to capitalize on unsuspecting customers was glaringly evident when they presented me with a staggering quote of £500 to address a supposed light issue that I wasn't even aware of. In disbelief, I sought a second opinion from another garage, which not only identified the problem in a mere 5 minutes but also fixed it for a paltry £10. It became glaringly apparent that Barking Halfords Autocentre was not only overcharging but preying on customers' lack of automotive knowledge.To add insult to injury, their pricing for simple items like wipers reached new heights of absurdity. While their website listed the wipers at a reasonable £26, they had the audacity to demand a mind-boggling £70 for the same product. This kind of price gouging is not only unethical but also a blatant disregard for transparency and fairness in their dealings with customers.The stark disparity between their quoted prices and the actual market value of services and products is a clear indication of their predatory business practices. The lack of integrity displayed by Barking Halfords Autocentre is not only disheartening but serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering their services.In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone in need of automotive services to steer clear of Barking Halfords Autocentre. Their approach to customer service is marked by deceit, overcharging, and a blatant disregard for the well-being of their patrons. Save yourself the hassle, frustration, and unnecessary expenses by choosing a more reputable and honest establishment for your automotive needs.Edit:After speaking to the customer services they said Halfordsinvestigated themselves and found they did nothing wrong.Crazy, before I went to them for a MOT my headlight was working fine. Halfords said it needed to be completely replaced for £500 for parts and labour. The honest garage I went to said a bulb was not in the correct position and fixed it within minutes.They also have very little to no parking and a ridiculous MOT booking system where they book you in when they are not free. So you waste so much time waiting.Avoid this place at all costs!

Excellent service. Arrived on time, was greeted and the keys for the car taken for the service and MOT. Got an update on works that could be done for the car, or things I should do before the next MOT. Works was done really quickly and got a call 30mins before collection. When I went back and collected the keys all the documentation was done and car was ready to be collected. The member of staff at the desk explained everything before I left.

The Manager at Reception has something of an attitude problem towards getting work done quickly and efficiently; it took them 45 minutes to change and balance one tyre when there were only two other cars in the shop. I will say the quality of the work was reasonable but, this Manager is slow and has an attitude so but for the fact a large company chooses to have promoted him, his business would soon collapse if it were privately run by him. He would be better placed returning to fitting tyres and let someone with some enthusiasm and passion for there work be in authority. Won't use this branch again.

I had a appointment booked and was told its a all day appointment by Bharat I didn't have all day asked to re book this was done and told to be at the centre a few days later at 7.30 forgive I walk in at 7.30 the man who asked me to be there had a chip on his shoulder asked me to leave they open at 8am so I wait then I'm told your car won't be ready till late afternoon its only a 3 hour service. Personally now reading reviews I believe Bharat has a problem with a certain type of people..

Stay away from this Halfords Autocentre, I had a scheduled appointment on 30/10/23 for a wheel alignment, came in and was told to leave my car with them and collect it later, I told them I will wait, the manager Bharat told me it will be a 4+ hour wait, so he suggested I rebook for another day and come in early morning at 8:00am when they are about to open that way they can get my wheel alignment done quickly as there won't be any cars. He booked me in on 02/11/2023 for that appointment, I came at the time requested hoping that this would be done soon only to be told by the staff member there that it will be 5 hours till they work on my vehicle as they have so many cars in the queue, it's funny cause at the time there was barely any vehicles in their garage other than my one parked by the car park. I told him what Bharat the manager said to me but he still refused to serve me before all these imaginary cars even though I had an appointment. I have made a complaint to Halfords for this and I have told this garage to cancel my appointment and refund me back my money, honestly I would say if your thinking of coming here you will have problems, you are better off taking your car elsewhere like an independent garage who will probably be able to see you and service your vehicle quickly and correctly, this Halfords garage has too many problems as it's a tiny garage with room for maybe two vehicles inside and on a small car park with space for 5 vehicles. Oh and if you book online they only offer a drop off service and not a slot where your vehicle will be seen to so either prepare to wait the whole day or leave your vehicle there alternatively if you book online then you have to call them to give you a slot if you want a quick service. My advice is go elsewhere for your own peace of mind

It's the go to place for anything Auto, I had my MOT done, great service, the manager Barat is very helpful & nothing is too much trouble, always accomodating, I have my car serviced here too, also being a premium member of the Halfords Auto Club, has some great deals, highly recommended, well done ..?

Crooks and liars?Rude manager with no manners and professionalism. Avoid using Halfords Auto Barking at all cost?.I got my service done and was told that my car needs new link-arm and charged me £100 in addition to service cost. However the work they did ruined the wheel alignment of the car which they did not check on the day. So when I called back, I was told to bring the car back in two weeks? time and we will fix it free of cost. However, on the day, the manager Barret completely refused to have this conversation with me and quite rudely denied to fix the alignment and asked me to pay another £45 for alignment. They made me wait for two weeks and then refused to do the work they agreed to do free of charge, however I am more annoyed at the rude behaviour and aggressive attitude of the manager who just walked away and left me with staff without resolving the dispute. Very poor customer service and unprofessional behaviour. Carry on like this and you will not have a single customer left to walk in on this outlet.Suggestion for Halford ? hire some decent managers who knows how to talk to customers and have some decency at least to listen to customers. In worst case scenarios, if you are stuck with people like Barret, then offer them some training please.

Booked a ?break check? simply because I needed my breaks for life policy changed over onto my new vehicle. Upon arrival was told I need to leave my car there as they were ?busy? and to collect it at 3pm! Waited till 12:00 then I took my vehicle and drove home!I called and booked in with Halfords Chingford and upon taking my vehicle in today the gentleman inputted vehicle details on the system, then walked around the car with his device and checked the current breaks and told me that?s all done for you madam your policy is now on your new vehicle! It took no longer than 5 mins!!!! So why did the jobs worth at Barking need 5hrs! At Barking they are always inconveniencing people and ruining peoples day! #BEMORELIKECHINGFORDCOLLEGUES

**Not Recommended for MOT here!**I should have read all the reviews before I book my MOT. They trend to fail your MOT for silly stuffs which easily avoidable i guess. Such as a bulb was not working and force to pay higher price such as a bulb for £25!I was a regular client for them but I believe the management changed and whoever managing it now does not got customer services materials in them. Not going back.

It's not the best experience at Halfords. I booked my car in for tracking and tyre change 1 week in advance for 10am. When I got there, I was told that 10 am is not my slot, and it's just a drop-off time. The work on my car didn't start until much later and was finished just after 2 pm. Wasted a whole day waiting around for my car.After speaking to the receptionist, he did try and get my car in as soon as possible. But they really need to fix this system, in my opinion.
