In 2020 they told me my rear brake discs were at 7.5mm. In 2024 they told me the same discs were 9mm. Apparently discs get thinner over time, not thicker. They also lost my wheel locking nut. In 2023 they passed my mot with no advisory notes, the following week my tyre exploded going over a speed bump. Emergency mechanic who changed the tyre asked me if my car had mot and told me he was shocked that it ever passed mot because the tyre was extremely bald. He showed me and educated me on how to measure it for myself and now I have an understanding, I'm shocked at how bald the tyre was. I trusted these people to keep me and my children safe, but the discrepancies over disc thickness and the tyre being extremely bald but still passing mot has destroyed all trust. I will not be using halfords ever again, they are not trustworthy or reliable. Driving a vehicle carries significant risk and I take my responsibilities of maintaining my car very seriously and do all that I can to reduce the risks. Because I do not know or understanding mechanics, I pay professionals to give me that advice instead (and I pay well), but I'm not a complete idiot and I won't be taken for a fool. I work hard to earn my money and I'm not about to throw it down the drain for some dishonest cowboy to earn a bit of commission. You should be highly ashamed of yourselves!

I arrived 20min late for a 0930 MOT & service. My mistake and I admitted this upon arriving at the branch however the unhelpful arrogant staff member was completely unhelpful and rejected the job. I realise they have a schedule however surely 20min late doesn't mean the end of the world. I offered to leave the car for them to squeeze me ion however he didn't even entertain the idea of helping accommodate a customer. Usless.

I went in to change 2 tyres in the halford barking auto centre. A lovely team working there and are very pleasant. Richmond delivered great service with a smile during my whole time I was there. He drove the car out handed my keys to me and thanked me for visiting the branch today. What a nice guy and a overall great experience.

Went for an MOT and the team seemed very organised and punctual. They were extremely friendly and took good care of my car. Definitely recommend going to barking halfords for efficiency and quality service.

Went there for a service of my car and when I came home , car was making humming sound.. I went back and asked them about the issue.. their staff didn't install the filter properly but keep blaming me for the issue... arrogant behaviour from the manager to other staff... I never recommend this place...

I had my front tyres replaced at the Halfords Barking branch and was very pleased with the service. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. Special thanks to the gentleman who welcomed me upon arrival ? his friendly and helpful attitude made a great first impression. I?d also like to thank Richmond, who replaced the tyres with care and attention to detail. I highly recommend this branch and will definitely return in the future. Great job!

Had a full service and mot here on 23/7/25. The team was friendly, did the work that was needed, and even fixed a follow up issue the following day. Happy with the service received.

Was not happy with the service I received, on halfords website it states that they fix clutch problems so I booked a diagnostic to get the problem pin pointed and was going to get the clutch problem fixed from them. After the diagnostic test was done I was told they don't fix automatic transmission problems and my gear box is a DSG automatic, it does not say that on there website so ended up wasting £50 on a test, I emailed the customer services more then 3 days ago with no reply for a refund and still haven't heard from them.

I called today to cancel my wife?s follow-up car appointment for next Thursday due to repeated poor experiences. I was told it had already been cancelled shortly after her visit yesterday, which made no sense, as she only decided to cancel today.
I was then told appointments are ?automatically cancelled if missed,? even though hers was still a week away and she had spent over three hours at your garage just yesterday.
That visit was for a rear wheel sensor issue causing dashboard lights and faulty parking sensors, so was having a new sensor fitted. She was then told the wheel bearing also would need replacing and that her sensors wouldn?t work without it, and she was to return for her 4th visit next Thursday. This was confusing, especially since she?d had her tires fixed there the week before and none of this was mentioned or noticed. When she pointed out it was her third visit and the tires were replaced, the staff member seemed caught off guard.
They then tried to up charging her on the previous price that she was quoted on her last visit, just last week, and the staff had to check the system and proof magically was the previous quote again.
After some discussion, she agreed to return next Thursday for the wheel bearing. But upon leaving yesterday, all her sensors were suddenly working perfectly, speaking with a separate mechanic this was explained that they were 100% trying to upcharge her and get work out of her as the part currently doesn't need replacing and all sensors are working.
When I questioned the cancellation on the phone, I was put on hold, transferred, and then told the appointment was still active and could now be cancelled.
This whole experience has been inconsistent and unprofessional. We won?t be returning.

This branch has been outstanding. I have been a customer here for several years. I recently had a battery replacement and a diagnostic check carried out?the team was both prompt and efficient. The service and repairs are consistently exceptional. After being referred from place to place, I?m truly glad to have found this garage. I would highly recommend them.

Came in for a new set of tires, after a friday night of partying I completely forgot if I even had a lug nut when I arrived at the garage. Went back home tore the house upside down to try find it. Called Halford Autocentre Barking saying I can't find it, they told me not to worry to bring the car back so they can sort something out. Turns out my partying has really got the best of me the lug nut was at the back of the booth hidden under my charging cables. Once again great work great customer service. Shout out to Unc!
