When I walked in, I was truly impressed by the energy and dedication of the staff. I had to sit here for about two hours while waiting for my spouse, and during that time, I observed how hardworking the team was.
One male staff member in particular caught my attention with the way he cleaned and took out the trash. At the same time, the lady inside was carefully cleaning and organizing the coffee machines. Their teamwork and commitment to their tasks really stood out to me.
It?s genuinely rare these days to come across people who work with such care and professionalism. I didn?t want to keep these positive thoughts to myself, so I chose to write them down here. Thank you for the excellent service. A special thanks to the kind, dark-haired gentleman with the warm smile ? I was too shy to ask for his name, but his efforts did not go unnoticed.

First the staff are very rude unprofessional and lack of customer service, staff need to learn manners and how to communicate with customers. The plate they served my tuna melt baguette was dirty when I asked to change the plate the staff was upset and start giving me bad looks. Never going there again!!!

The only positive thing I can say is that I like the upstairs seating. While the sofa chairs themselves are old and uncomfortable, if you manage to find it relatively empty it can be a chill place to hang with a mate.
The staff, while I wouldn't say rude, don't have a great attitude. I had to ask just about the whole staff if I could use the toilet.
They couldn't care less regardless that I was a paying customer.
Oh, the toilet code is C3789Z.
(That'll save about 15 minutes of your life, trust me)

I visited Costa recently in barking and was served by Sania. I had mentioned to her that during my previous visit (yesterday), someone had made my coffee with burnt milk when I asked for it to be extra hot. I was honestly hesitant to come back after that experience.
However, Sania showed excellent customer service. She kindly listened to my concern, apologized on behalf of the staff, and offered to replace my coffee. Her professional and friendly attitude completely turned around my impression and made me feel valued as a customer. Thanks to her, I will definitely continue coming back to Costa.

Dear Costa Team,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the repeated negative experiences I?ve had at your Barking location, 62-64 Station Parade, Barking IG11 8EA, United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, the staff at this branch are consistently rude and unprofessional. Every time I order a strawberry frappé, it is either made incorrectly or carelessly. On one occasion, a staff member touched the whipped cream with visibly dirty fingers ? which is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. Another time, the drink had barely any strawberry syrup.
I?ve also encountered issues with other drinks. I specifically asked for oat milk in a latte and received regular milk instead. When I ordered a black Americano, they still added milk. And today, I received what was supposed to be an iced drink, but it was just cold milk ? no ice, no flavor.
These repeated mistakes and the careless attitude of the staff have made my visits to this branch consistently unpleasant. I kindly urge you to take serious action to improve the quality of service and professionalism at this location. This is far from the standard of quality I expect from Costa.

Lots of seating has two floors. I've always had nice encounters with the staff. Im glad they have chosen to lock the bathrooms again as non-customers were constantly coming in just to use the toilet facilities after they removed the code feature on the bathroom doors. This shop gets a lot of foot traffic as it's right across from Barking station, so you can imagine how many people would just come in to use the toilets.
My only gripe would be that a lot of the food like the muffins, etc... have no protective covering. They are housed in a display case, but the side behind the counter is completely open, which can allow flies to land on those pastries and baked goods, so for that reason, I'll never order those. If they had either domes covering those pastries like they do for the cakes I would feel more inclined to buy one or had a display case with a sliding door behind the counter, again just to protect the food. Hopefully, they will consider this in the future.

I never seen worst customer service ever, if I have a chance to give 0 stars means I will give 0 or minus, today I went with my family, one old lady is in a till, red hair, she is too rude, she is a rubbish in hospitality service , I don?t know she know about customer service, food and hygiene safety and she smoked in front of Costa with uniform she doesn?t wash her hand , she serve the food and coffee to us. Pls fire her, she will spoil your coffee shop name. I don?t know Costa have a secret shopper or not.if I am in a manager means I will take severe action against her.

It was so bad first when I walked in I could hear them shouting and laughing very loudly for no reason and there was this worker named Ana and she was very rude she kept shouting at us and once we ordered I could see she was staring at me and my two sisters also she charged us the wrong order and she looked at me and my sisters like we were some crazy people and what we told her was what she wrote.

Yesterday we visited this cafe to buy drinks and use the toilet. Let me start by saying that I had a hard time figuring out the code on the toilet and the staff didn't help me, a guest and this hole helped me open the door and for that I thank him. The toilet inside was dirty but ok, maybe the staff doesn't know how to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. But what brought me to tears was the situation when I was already inside and some man started to open the door to the toilet, I told him it was busy but that didn't stop him and he opened the door anyway. It was a shock.The staff didn't care.
My berry drink tasted awful, tasted like the sugar syrup they give people in hospitals to check them for diabetes my boyfriend had peach tea and it was also awful, we had to throw it.

I am writing to formally escalate a serious complaint regarding a staff member at your costa in barking right infront of barking station, identified as the lady with red hair. Her repeated rudeness and unprofessional behavior towards me and other customers have become unacceptable, and I am prepared to take further action if this matter is not addressed immediately.
I frequently visit Costa to work, often spending long hours there while consistently purchasing food and drinks throughout the day. Despite this, this particular staff member has repeatedly confronted me about using the restroom, implying that I am not a paying customer. I fully understand that Costa requires a purchase for restroom use, which is why I always buy something. However, I do not see why I should be subjected to unnecessary scrutiny and rude treatment every time.
I am also pregnant, and while my pregnancy may not be immediately obvious, that does not give her the right to be rude or dismissive toward me. I use the restroom frequently, as is expected during pregnancy, and I often misplace my receipts in the process. That does not mean I am trying to take advantage of Costa?s facilities I am a loyal paying customer who follows the rules.
I have ignored this treatment for far too long, but I have had enough. I have also observed that she selectively chooses whom to be polite to, which further proves that this is not just a misunderstanding but a pattern of unfair behavior. This is my formal notice that if this issue is not taken seriously, I am prepared to escalate it further, including pursuing legal action for discrimination and harassment.
I expect a prompt response outlining the steps you will take to resolve this matter.
Ignore this and I?ll take it further???.
