I have been there today with my sister, German (could be as he said someone he has studied there) man who is working there is more likely racist. We went to changing room with my sister to save some time an he said us go out! Then he explained his behaviour of rules that more than 4 items in changing room are forbidden, lady before us had probably 12 of items and another one the same! But us he asked to show him the clothes before we want to try. So he spoken to someone on the phone that we are Romanian thats why! Shocked, we are not Romanian first of all, second of all if we speaking between each other not English it doesn?t mean we should be treated not human. While I was paying for my clothes he even didn?t look at us, the same about my sister. You should check before hiring staff in the charity shop - it?s absolutely disgusting to treat people differently because of nationality! Will never come back, hope this will help to improve situation.

Very hard to donate given they never answered the phone and when you show up they sometimes don?t let you donate

thank you to the kind staff for patiently answering my queries and giving me a discount on some boots. i came in last week and asked about the brand and why the price was quite high. the volunteer took time to do research for me (he was a middle aged man with an accent, sorry i do not know where from ?). then another volunteer (a young man with an american accent) gave me the discount when we discovered where the shoes were from. thank you so much for it! i?m in love with my new boots!!!

Appreciate it is tough when you?re staffed by volunteers, but it is not OK to just suddenly decide not to take donations one day when people have travelled a long way to donate - have clear donating hours online or take donations whenever you?re open please!

The volunteer was very impolite! Last weekend, me and my husband carried 4 bags of donations to the British Heart Foundation, the volunteer asked us what's inside the donation bags in a very rude manner as if we were throwing rubbish to him. Understand it is important for them to know what's the donation, whether the stuff we donated are suitable and I would be more than happy to tell him the details of the donations (90% new kitchenware, many of them are still in packaged) if he asked politely and not COMMAND us to place the donation to the stockroom.Very disappointed experience.

Couldn?t make it more difficult to give to this charity. Home collections keep telling you to call back next week and then make you wait all day for them. Never be even acknowledged when dropping off, let alone thanked. So rude.

Things must have changed since the first review 2 years ago. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of books, well organised by category, DVDs and music which are my main interest. Great for a Saturday morning browse!

Your classic charity shop, been around for as long as I can remember, and selling as much as is normal for the charity shop to sell : books, dvds, clothes, greeting cards, and all for charity, so I say go go go and give something back, instead of buying your books at borders, buy them here and give from the heart to the heart!
