Went to Aldi late Saturday evening with my 5 year granddaughter. She misplaced her straw hat her great-grandmother bought for her before she passed on. Aldi Penge on Saturday, 17 August. I was shopping with my 5-year-old grandchild, who has special educational needs. She was wearing a hat that holds great sentimental value, as it was a gift from my late mother before she passed away. Unfortunately, she forgot the hat in the store.
When my daughter enquired about it, staff informed her that Aldi does not have a lost property process and that items are simply left where they are misplaced. This practice is unacceptable. By failing to protect lost belongings, the store effectively allows other customers to take property that does not belong to them.
As a loyal customer, I am extremely disappointed by this response and the lack of care shown. This was not just any item , it is irreplaceable, and the loss has caused great distress to my grandchild and our family.
I expect Aldi to urgently review this policy and implement a proper lost property procedure in all stores. Customers should be assured that if an item is misplaced, particularly something belonging to a child, it will be safeguarded and returned wherever possible.

A decent Aldi... Not quite as big so can sometimes not find absolutely everything you want but it's one of the best options for a weekly shop in the area.

Lots of affordable choices. The car park is always carnage but the biggest problem is the self check out. Those tills are so faulty, they need constant staff unblocking them.

It's an Aldi. It's everything you'd expect from an Aldi. Except that it's in Anerley, so it's slightly friendlier than many.

Love my local aldi. Staff are so lovely and polite. Shelves are always stocked well. Queues can sometimes get long in the afternoon and weekends. Great place to shop. Updated 2025 with still the same review.

Staff are really lovely, the shop is fine if it's not too busy. I don't drive but the car park looks a bit chaotic for drivers.
My main problem is the vegetables are not their best so it's good for a day or so, but they do not do as much vegan food as they did in the past which is a shame
