Rude staff, was very rude about our dog and not allowing them in there.
Surely a country pub would accept dogs, we also explained we wanted to sit outside?.
Won?t be coming back again as didn?t feel welcome

Quaint local pub with more than decent fresh food. The burger was very good, especially the generous portion of brisket. Service was quick and friendly.

We found the Swan last year when we visited the area as it?s dog friendly and the food looked very good. Because we had such a good time we knew when we returned this year that it would be on the top of our list of places to eat.
Booking online couldn?t have been easier, and our table was perfect for us and our dogs.
The menu was nice and varied, we shared a delicious crispy ham hock starter before moving onto the main. My wife was initially disappointed to discover they?d sold out of salmon but her second choice of sea bass went down very nicely as did my lamb rump with a very tasty smoked garlic mash. A shared portion of buttered green vegetables was the perfect accompaniment.
Dessert is too much for my wife but I couldn?t resist the Belgian toffee waffle with honeycomb ice cream and caramelised banana.
The staff were helpful, friendly and very cheerful despite it being very busy.
Lovely place, fantastic food, great atmosphere and brilliant staff.
We?ll be back next year!

Our family has been regular visitors here for over a year. With complex dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free), we can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to food.
Recently, there was an unfortunate mix-up with the menu, which prompted us to reach out to the team. The manager responded exceptionally well?handling what was actually a fairly serious issue with great professionalism and care. To make things right and rebuild trust, they generously invited our whole party back for a complimentary meal.
This isn?t the first time we?ve encountered issues like this at restaurants, but The Swan truly stood out in how they managed the situation. They went above and beyond.
The food was outstanding, and even with the hiccup, we felt incredibly welcome and included?no small feat given our dietary complexities.
It?s a real comfort to have a local pub where we feel confident dining.
Thank you again to the pub Manager for handling the situation so well and not shunning us away.
