I would highly recommend the lamb chops and the lamb garlic masala. Definitely go for the lamb, it is very yummy. The front of house staff, Jamil, is also very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is very clean, service very quick, and the atmosphere very vibrant! My favourite curry restaurant!

I've always had a great experience at the Royal Raj, food is excellent (I recommend the lamb, slow cooked and fall-apart tender; reshmi kebab starter is lush too), there are some fabulous dishes that I've not found anywhere else (e.g., the dhum gosht, a real crowd pleaser).
Service is efficient, attentive and friendly, and there's a great range of drinks and cocktails that you don't usually find in a British Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant.
I've been a customer for years, despite living a 20 minute drive away, and have brought three different teams from my "day job" to try it and have a nice evening out.
Takeaways have never disappointed me either, and, added bonus, Deliveroo now delivers from the Royal Raj to our house.

I never normally write reviews but the royal raj winterbourne is a must visit! Food was unreal and staff were excellent, the new refurbishments brought a wonderful ambience ! The owner Jamil was friendly and polite ensuring there was no issues with our meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will be back.

New to the area - beats our old favourite urban tandoor place in Bristol. Generous portion sizes , reasonably priced! Stunning nan breads!!!!

Takeaway - Chicken Vindaloo came with 3 pieces of beef, 2 pieces of chicken and 1 piece of potato.
literally just a melting pot of leftovers. Would never ever eat from this place again!

We have been to the Royal Raj a few times now. And also had takeaways. Food is always hot and deliciously full of flavour. Always try and go on quieter times. Walk in no trouble for tables.

Had a Deliveroo delivery from here. Made us sick ! Will never order from here again. The chicken and lamb was hard.

Ordered a takeaway Dupiaza was pretty tasteless had no spice at all, supposed to be medium, very little chicken, lots of onion! Prawn Korma too sweet by far. Poppadoms nice, bhaji ok, keema naan very nice, rice good, pickles good a lot of money when you don't eat it.

Went and placed an order for Father?s Day, food was amazing and was suggested by a friend and was fast and quick even though they were busy! The staff were nice and pleasant can?t wait to go in a try! Don?t know how this place has anything reviews below 4 stars ?
