Went for a birthday meal with family, the all you can eat buffet was delicious, nice size portions. Very clean restaurant & friendly, attentive staff. Probably the best restaurant for authentic Chinese food in Gloucester that I've been to, DEFINITELY recommend China Garden if One likes dining out.

Do your self a favour and look at some of the more resent reviews on this place and book somewhere else. We thankfully did not even get to eat at this place due the to a very rude guy that answered my call. we book on line though there web site and it stated that if you did not get a reply for your booking to please ring them to possible rearrange for a another time and date. we did this to be only greeted by a very rude man on the end of the phone. very uninterested told me he was to busy and to ring tomorrow in a unpolite manner. Thank God we did not spend are evening and money there, I only wish I had read the reviews first and not wasted my time phoning. GOOD LUCK!

The food is average at best. A lot of the dishes were rather salty. The meat in most dishes was dry and chewy. King Prawns were lovely and juicy. It's an alright place to eat but I wouldn't be rushing back any time soon

The worst Chinese I've ever had. All 5 dishes were completely bland, had no flavour at all. The ginger and spring onion didn't even have any ginger in it. Only ordered from here due to our local takaway being closed for 4 weeks. Complete waste of money, very disappointed, never again..

We have been going here for several years, under different management. The new guy is SO rude! We arrived having prebooked and were shoved towards a table. We commented on the new decor too which he replied, well you've not been here since Easter, as if we have some kind of weekly commitment to eat there! I asked what the writing on the wall said. He replied well what's the name of the place. Sarcastic, horrid attitude that continued throughout. Won't bother making the 40 minute journey here again. Bring back the lovely Ray or Angel. They knew how to treat customers, not like this rude, unpleasant character.

We dined here on Thursday evening for my mums birthday, a large table (there was another large table dining too) but we booked with notice.
The staff were irritated by us asking for things and huffed a lot, we waited along time (over an hour) for some of the food, so the eat all you like is pointless and a waste of money. It was hot I know but there was not enough staff for the tables booked and our experience was awful, I had some chips and noodles and that was it for £25 as I gave up ordering because we either would t have got it or felt we were a pain for asking for more.

I am 81yrs of age, and last night's visit was my first visit to a Chinese, restaurant, and yes I was apprehensive, but how wrong I was, IAM know kicking myself for not visiting China Garden before. The food was excellent and the service brilliant, so I will definitely be visiting China Garden again soon, thanks everyone at China Garden for a lovely meal out last evening, see you again soon. My go to Chinese takeaway. Not too much MSG. House special chowmein, sweet n sour king prawn and an egg fried rice is £21 just now. Ample for two. Real food at KFC/BK prices.
