I visited the White Hart in Newnham on 25 at 15:00 pm and had a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, the staff member at the register didn't greet us; instead, she sighed as if we were an inconvenience. We ordered the mixed grill, paid by card, and sat down. Shortly after, the same staff member brought our money back in cash, stating that the mixed grill was unavailable. She didn't inform us of this when we initially ordered and paid.
As an Indian, I couldn't help but feel that this treatment was racially motivated. The lack of basic courtesy and the way the situation was handled made us feel unwelcome and devalued as customers. She didn?t even ask if we?d want a refund or would like to order anything else rather than mixed grill

Had breakfast here with a glorious view over the Severn. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very good, apart from the sausages which were little dry inside for some reason. Overall though, a great place to have breakfast on a sunny day.

I stopped here for a cool drink while out in the Forest of Dean and, out of curiosity, asked what time they stopped serving Sunday lunch. Expecting that a reservation would be needed (as it seemed very popular), I was pleasantly surprised to learn the kitchen was open until 7pm and they could fit me in for a food sitting.
I ordered the roast beef lunch and was really impressed with the presentation. The portion was generous, everything was cooked perfectly, and it tasted fantastic.
I?ll definitely be adding The White Hart to my favourites on GPS!

Attended last Sunday with my partner and parents. Hadn't booked, ordered food just after 12.45 and within 20 minutes the food was on our table!

Three of us went for lunch, two of the three meals were fine, unfortunately mine was not. I had the mackerel which was undercooked, so I left most of it & just ate the salad around it. I went to a member of staff & told them about this. No apology, no option to resolve the situation, just I'll let the chef know. Wow!! You can also tell the chef we won't be back.

Had lovely lunch three of us had Mussels which were lovely and plump with a generous portion of chips . The other person had cod and chips . Quickly served and friendly staff .
