Roast was bog standard, lamb was over cooked and Yorkshires blackened. Pudding advertised as meringue tower with fruit, 8 thin slices of banana scattered around the plate, I'm not sure if it was the chefs attemp at being pretentious and arty or a joke.

Perfectly placed country style pub. Patio seating on a summers day facing the village green, what's not to like. Tasty food and snacks with lovely staff.

We had such a fun couple of nights here when visiting for the weekend. Everyone made us feel so welcome and karaoke was such a giggle. We will 100% be coming again if we?re in the area.

What a lovely pub, we were staying close by and went in for an evening meal. The owners and staff were so friendly and the food amazing!!!
I had beer battered fish, the batter was lovely and crunchy and the fish cooked to perfection. My partner had the home made steak and Stilton pie, which he said was delicious. Lots of drink choices especially the ciders, we will be back again.

I've visited The Village Inn a handful of times during the past few years since the current landlord took over, and during each visit, I've never been left disappointed and my latest visit today (2nd July 2025) was no exception.
The quality and portion size of the burger was excellent, while almost everything was made in-house, including the beef patty. As is always the case, the beer was well kept and served perfectly. The service was excellent. And add to that the friendly and welcoming nature of the pub, and The Village Inn is a great pub to visit and one I'd highly recommend, even for a swift half.

We stayed in the village and went for drinks on Saturday night, the pub felt warm and welcoming. The landlord went out of his way to make us welcome, he was very charismatic and charming. He popped out to say hi the next morning when we were walking past which was lovely.
Thank you and we hope to visit again.

The man that runs this bar is an absolute diamond. Welcoming and kind, he helped me this weekend when I was in a pickle and didn't have cash - I wasn't a patron and he went out of his way to help me. We will be visiting with the family soon as it's also a really lovely village pub!

Lovley little Boozer to pop into on the way back from Liverpool, great choice of beers,ciders and lagers.Lovley friendly staff and a lovley friendly spaniel.well worth a visit x
