I stayed here with my sister for the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely twin room, we stayed in room 9 which is in the old building above the kitchen, which wasn't noisy. A fan and fire were suppled, which were not needed. The beds were super comfy with very nice bedding.
The bathroom is old but to be expected of a very old building, lots of hot water! The manageress Molly told us the bathrooms are to be refurbished when possible.
Great food, breakfasts really nice with two really lovely waitresses who could not do enough for you.
Sunday lunch was to die for, three meats and all the trimmings and again service wonderful.
Rooms: There are two low level accommodation buildings attached to the hotel which look nice, the online photos do not do this Hotel justice. There was scaffolding at the front of the Hotel when we stayed and I believe they are painting so no noise.
Nearby activities: The Bell is over the road from Tewksbury Abbey, which is well worth a visit. Check when open to the public as tours are available.
The market is open on Saturday mornings, its at the other end of town and worth a look.
Tewksbury has lots of shops, especially charity shops.
There are lovely walks by the river and a good choice of Historic hotels to stop at.
Walkability: The Bell is an old building with little steps in doorways but you can see them. If staying in the main building there are a few stairs to your room.
Noteworthy details: The staff in this hotel are so lovely and a credit to Molly who runs it. Nothing is too much trouble, you just have to ask.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Always a good couple of ales of tap. Good service. Nice they keep it original looking being such an old building. Nice in winter with the fire going.

I can't give a score on the rooms as we only popped in for lunch, which was very good for the price.
The sausages with the sausage & mash were excellent!
Food and drinks: Great value pub grub.

We called in for a Tea time meal. I had Risotto and my husband had the Lamb Shank, the quality and portion size for the cost was amazing. We had our dog with us- it?s Dog friendly- and although most tables were reserved we were accommodated in the snug/Bar area. More than satisfied ??

My husband and I, along with our dog, were made to feel very welcome by the staff at The Bell.
We were impressed by the menu choice, although we were told it is due to be updated soon.
The food came out surprisingly quick and was hot and tasty, with decent portions sizes.
The girls, I wish I knew their names were genuinely friendly, super polite, and gave great service. It's a shame we live quite far away, as we'd definitely eat there again, it was great!

We?ve had dinner here tonight for tea. It?s been so lovely.. my son has a nut allergy and Lucy Evans went above and beyond to make sure he was looked after and his allergy was taken very seriously.
Lucy Evans made my whole family feel at ease and very welcome. We will definitely come back and visit again. Thanks again Lucy and the team

Lovely position close to the town centre and next to the stunning Abby
The main thing for us was the staff. Always so friendly and welcoming. They couldn?t do enough for us and our slightly grumpy dog. Will definitely be back soon

Wow, what a transformation. Having not stayed here for a while, what an improvement in the room. We stayed in room nineteen and it was like a boutique hotel with the lovely decor and matching furniture. On our last stay all the furniture was mismatched and old. Staff excellent as always and lovely food and service. We are pleased that greene king realises what an asset the Bell is and are refurbishing the outside. Well done.
