Oh dear... carrot cake slice WAS huge but totally lacking taste and devoid of carrots or nuts! Icing was delicious but not really a carrot cake ?? Scones were tasteless too unfortunately...very disappointed as we always try to support Abbey tea rooms across the country. I suggest changing the recipes.

Fantastic, quirky little Tea Room serving up delicious Sunday Roast dinners. Like visiting a cross between your grandparents parlour and an Antique shop. Stacked from floor to ceiling with memorabilia from days gone by and brings back memories from childhood you thought you'd forgotten! Booking is essential weeks in advance as it's very popular with locals and tourists alike. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area!

Had a lovely Sunday roast! I cannot eat gluten and was delighted in knowing that I could have a roast, apart from the Yorkie pud (they looks lush though). Best gluten-free gravy I've EVER had!! Staff were lovely and memorabilia was gorgeous and we enjoyed talking and reminiscing about it all. Would recommend 10/10

My son recently bought an ice cream for my granddaughter who has coeliac?s disease. Any form of gluten can and will make her seriously ill. Either the female owner or supervisor was extremely rude about his enquiries about gluten content and was not exactly quiet about it, even though the venue was busy. As a result, my son was left humiliated for trying to be a responsible parent and the ice cream which had a flake in it, that had not been ordered was refused to be exchanged and was refunded leaving my 2year old granddaughter without her ice cream. The woman?s attitude was a disgrace, I can only guess that she must be the owner as any responsible employer would have fired her by now.
Dietary restrictions: Don?t bother, ignorant owner, unsympathetic to customers requirements and loud
Kid-friendliness: Absolutely not, withdrew an ice cream from sale to a 2 year old due to her dietary restrictions.

I'd like to preface this by saying my 2 year old daughter has coeliac disease which means she can't have anything with gluten even if it's a 'may contain'.
Before ordering we asked a young lady (who was very helpful) if the whippy ice cream contained gluten, she spoke to the kitchen who informed her it didn't.
So we ordered one tub of ice cream for our daughter. Shortly after an elderly gentleman brought out the tub of ice cream that contained a flake. Obviously we didn't know that the ice cream came with a flake as we would have requested it come without.
I apologised to the gentleman and asked if he knew whether or not the flake was gluten free, he returned and stated he wasn't sure.
Unfortunately we can risk our daughters health for the sake of a flake. so I asked if it was possible to have a replacement without a flake which is when a lady shouted from the back no we can't and that there would be no replacement and only a refund would be given, as if I had inconvenienced them, I would have gladly explained the reasoning for wanted a replacement if they'd asked.
I believe there's a misconception that people who need gluten free food are just picky when in fact some people such as my daughter get very poorly if they eat it.
I was taken a back by the ignorance and terrible customer service of The Abby Tea rooms. I believe they need to receive some allergen training and will be taking this issue up with the local council.

We were on a coach trip with GB tours staying at warners Holme Lacy, one of our trips out was to Tewksbury, where we only stayed for less than 2 hours not long enough really. We were told by the driver that we were booked in for a cream tea at the Abbey tea rooms which had opened specially for us. He dropped us of up the road and 24 of us went in, well what a surprise the owner was waiting to greet us the tables were all set with pots of tea and a large scone with separate butter, jam & clotted cream which was delicious, the place was lovely & warm. Think the whole party agreed we could have stayed there all day looking at all the memorabilia everywhere you could see even the coins stuck to the chairs and the outside toilets worth a visit. It is an amazing place well worth a visit and my husband and I have said we will return one day
