Food was fine. Service was ok. But the cutlery was needing a good wash and the decor seemed out of the late 90s.

When I visit a café it's usually to sample the coffee. It matters not (to an extent!) how wonderful the staff are, it's what they do with the magic beans. Unfortunately my latte was disappointing and the lack of a swirly on the top made it doubley so. In mitigation my scone (rhymes with don, NOT bone) was delicious..... but that coffee ?. Melanie's also seemed geared up for the crinkley market. Don't give me any of that pot, kettle, black, business. The head may be sixty-seven years old but there lies an extremely juvenile brain inside it. I've reviewed at least two superior cafés in Tewkesbury but don't forget that it's my personal opinion. I may be wrong, but I doubt it!

Lovely spot for coffee, we had a very warm welcome and even the dogs had their own biscuits served on saucers too, lovely to support an independent business.

I have been to Melanies several times, and I always enjoy the experience of a typical British cafe.Friendly staff, comfortable seating, reasonable prices.
Last week,a friend and I visited for lunch.I ordered Welsh rarebit. When it arrived, I was offered a single piece of cheap white sliced bread, with a thin layer of melted cheese on top and a teaspoon sized garnish of lettuce and shredded carrot to accompany it.It cost £6.50. ( which I accept is fairly cheap, rightly so for what it was) but the same price as my friends stacked sandwich, did not resemble Welsh rarebit in any way.

Nice quiet place. Good Service but not worth for the price.

We ordered two bacon sandwiches, waitresses was pleasant and easy to order off .cafe was clean and welcoming. Unfortunately when our sandwiches arrived the bacon fat was uncooked and very unappealing. We just ate what we could, when waitresses ask if food was ok we said about the uncooked bacon fat . It was on the plate to see so no argument. I went to till to pay and was immediately met by a nasty hostile cashier, who called me a liar and insisted bacon was cooked. I was at the till to pay so why such a vile outburst.? We will not be returning, no way to treat customers

A nice quaint place. Friendly staff. We were served by a nice young lady - food was average. My roast meat tasted like its from a supermarket. Appreciated the efforts made to sustain a local business.

Delicious scones with plenty of strawberry jam and clotted cream along with cream tea. Service was friendly even though they were very busy. We liked the scones so much we went three days in a row. A real treat.

Melanie's attempt at banter with her customers fell flat and came across as borderline aggressive.
The food wasnt good. Bacon fat was not rendered so it was just a big strip of rubber, mushrooms were watery (so much so it has us questioning if they might be frozen) and the brown toast we ordered was white seeded bread.
Inside is shabby. It could have a lot of charm but it's very run down.
Overall don't waste your time and money.
