I am adding to this review following the very swift and prompt action from the Brewery following my visit on Saturday. They have been very apologetic and offered a voucher for a future visit that we will certainly make the most of. Customer service done exceptionally well.
Sadly what should have been a wonderful evening was a real let down as we arrived for out booked table on Sat evening only to be told they had no pizzas left, two of the mains had run out, there were no desserts and three of the other options had very limited availability. The food we were able to order was good and the beers were tasty however the lack of choice was particularly dissapointing and had the priority was clearly being given to large tables who had pre-ordered. We were a table of six and at no point in the booking process was I encouraged to pre -order.

I went to Stroud brewery on Sunday I?ve been there number of occasions before but never on a Sunday. I was on my own I found a table which there were three or four empty went to the bar ordered a drink asked for a menu. I went back to the bar to order some food and I was asked if I had a table and I suggest table 14 where my pint was sat on the table had I booked the table? No while I?m afraid we don?t do walkins on a Sunday. and you cannot have any food why is this not made clear when I bought the pint and asked for a food menu just as a bit of cheek I asked for a refund on my pint because obviously if I couldn?t eat with my drink, where was I going to sit to finish my paint as you can?t sit at the table you haven?t booked. I did put the paint back onto the bar forget about the refund and walked out. I will not be going back. I think it?s poor that the solar pint, but they won?t give you anywhere to drink it and they?re selling food.

A great drinking spot! Definitely worth a visit for the local beers and the amazing pizza. We recently went on the brewery tour, it was very informative and interesting to delve into the history of how it was all set up and try their beers! It's always best to get there early and wrap up warm, I can't wait to see there new premises just a stone throws away!

Bad experience with staff not allowing us to order food when others who arrived after us could. No legitimate explanation

The slowest kitchen and servers in the whole of Stroud. I come here often and I'm always reluctant/hopeful that maybe just maybe this will be the time I actually get served within a 40 minute window. The kitchen is SLOW, and the food just sits there under the lamps for an age and a half. The people of Stroud are too positive (possibly toxcically positive) to complain so I doubt this will ever change. I hate leaving low star reviews but this always happens here...urgh.
Edit: thanks ChatGPT for your warm and "honest" reply.

Nice beer and cider menu but being told by staff that food can?t be ordered at 3pm, 4pm and then told we can?t order food for the rest of the night , we got a round of free beer but we were hungry and walked away hungry

Great place on the canal.
The food looked nice but we only had a drink as thought it nit right to just walk on past.
Good selection of ales and ciders.

We had a great experience visiting the Taproom, whilst on holiday in the area. Fan of the brewery and first time visiting, enjoyed a coffee in the sun and then took some takeaway cans and merch home. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly in talking us through some takeaway choices and fixing us up with t shirts. Definitely will be coming back again. Thank you.

Huge Brewery in Stroud. The space is huge and was packed with people. We only had a few beers but they were great. From the food I saw it is mostly pizza.

Good local beers. Pizza menu with a few other dishes.. Service was quick. Some of the toppings were a bit too fancy for the kids. Adults were happy.

Pizza was just OK. Service wasn't great. I went to fetch some cold water on a hot day for some children. I saw a jug of water and a few stacked plastic ups. I I tried filling 3 cups, one of the people working in the wood oven Pizza station stopped me from taking them away and said "these arent for you". Failed to explain I could get something at the bar. So rude! Waitress bringing the food asking really obvious questions, how many plates? How many forks?
Won't be back... any time soon.

It?s a stressful visit at the best of times. Last time we came we had to try to hop from empty table to empty table. People were reserving spots for 20 minutes at a time by leaving a lip gloss on the table while not using it at all. Loads of empty tables were reserved with nobody turning up to fill them. The brewery could be a lovely place for a pint after a walk up the canal but alas it?s stressful chaos. One of the wait staff told us to sit on a specific table and after 15 minutes we were spoken to like dirt by a group of teenagers who had left their keys there roughly 30 min earlier. I would avoid if looking for a chill pint and only go if part of a family booking.
The ship inn a short walk up the canal towpath has impeccable service and great food. They sorted us out.
