Excellent food in my opinion the best in Stow on The Wold served by very nice staff, I would 100 % recommend it 10 out of 10.

A lovely historical pub, great food - but mostly the most wonderful staff. Outstanding.

We went for breakfast and walked in to a super cute pub! We wanted to eat but unfortunately it was for residents only. I?d call before driving next time.

We were well looked after during our short stay. Our room was lovely and the staff helpful and friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning! We hope to be back.

Genuinely shocked at how bad this was. The service was incredibly slow. We went for dinner and it took 40 minutes just to get our starter, and another 60 minutes until our main courses arrived. The waitress completely ignored us while we were waiting so we had to go to the bar to get more drinks, but there was no-one behind the bar either! A couple who came in after us had finished their dinner and left before we even got our main courses! No apology or explanation from the waitress about the reason for the delay, just a bad attitude. The food was ok but nothing special. Avoid this place if you're hungry or value your sanity.

Wonderful pub hotel. Location is great for exploring the Cotwolds. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean and they even have dog friendly rooms so we could bring our pup on holiday. The pub it self was also lovely the team were great so so helpful and lovely relaxed vibes all around.
Food was really nice, cannot fault this hotel will defintatly be staying again.

The Bell is a beautiful place, with very delicious food, and a very complete breakfast. What stands out is the excellent attention of all the staff. I will return without a doubt.
Noteworthy details: The warmth of the decoration is to highlight.??

Never have I ever left a restaurant in tears. You know when you just *feel* the racism? It doesn't need to be blatant but is usually subtle. POC will understand 100% that feeling. We booked this last minute and as soon as we walked in, were ignored. A white couple came in after us and the blonde waitress went directly around us and took them to a table. I made direct eye contact as she was taking them, as if to say, I saw that and yes we're still here. She intentionally avoided us completely after as we were standing there waiting to be helped. The man behind the bar saw, seated us instead, and then we were ignored for another 20 minutes. I asked another blonde waitress if we could be helped and she said WE'LL GET TO YOU. She had never even acknowledged our presence or existence prior. I was already so upset we just decided to leave after that. We left with empty bellies and a trip to a local grocery store instead. There's a Yelp review from 9 days ago about this and one on TripAdvisor from this month saying the EXACT SAME THING.

Our room was too small, great decor but too small, the location was amazing, I used the iron which marked my husband's shirt, very dirty ? only one coat hanger, know space to put our suitcase, we had to put the cushions from the bed in the bathroom ?

Stayed at the Stuart House which is part of The Bell, but about 2 blocks up. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. Check-in process (at The Bell) was easy and quick. Our stay was part of a Cotswold inn-to-inn walk that we were doing. The luggage transport service we were using dropped our bags off at The Bell - there is nowhere at Stuart House to drop off and leave luggage, so we had to haul our bags up the hill from The Bell which was a bit of a bummer, however, management at The Bell did offer to drive them up for us at a later time when they weren't so busy. We opted not to wait, and brought them up ourselves. I mention this only for those that are not physically able to carry heavy bags up hill a couple of blocks, and do not want to wait to have them delivered. Regardless, I would definitely stay here again.

I had high expectations after reading reviews but upon departure was left slightly disappointed from my stay for a few reasons.
1. The hotel is off site approx 150 metres away. It has a small car park for about 5 or 6 vehicles. The short walk to the rooms is narrow and uneven, and the climb to the rooms at the top on the stairs is even more precarious especially those that struggle with stairs or carrying suitcases.
2. The room itself was nice, except for the mold in the shower and the dust and cobwebs we saw in the bedroom itself.
3. I was looking forward to breakfast in the pub, except for the water leak next to our table, having several items missing from the breakfast menu which we were not told about before we sat down or checked in, missing items after I placed my order for a cooked breakfast and lack of warmth from the only staff member on duty. The cleaner was very friendly whilst she swept and mopped the floor whilst we ate though!
Sorry but this hotel was not for us, beds were very soft and uncomfortable and the decision for if one pillow was not enough and two was too many was too much also. Lie flat on the bed or have your head so far in the air you could almost stop yourself from breathing.
Stowe is a charming village worth a visit, but my opinion is find somewhere else to stay, for the price it wasn't justified
Rooms: Nicely decorated just i would prefer not to see mould in the shower or cobwebs above the bed.
Food & drinks: Simple food on offer, nothing special or makes it stand out. Didnt see much about promoting local fare!
