Daylesford Organic presents itself as a beacon of sustainability and wholesome living, but in practice, it functions more as a status symbol for the aspiring affluent ? those who either have wealth or want to be perceived as if they do. The inflated prices aren?t just about premium products; they?re a form of social signaling. It?s less a farm shop and more a curated backdrop for performative consumption, where the aesthetic of rural simplicity is repackaged for those eager to buy into a sanitized, luxury version of the countryside.

Employee Toby is a troll. Avoid.

They failed to deliver a butchers box to our Xmas hosts. They sent me an email saying they would postpone delivery to the following day, the following day arrived and I received a refund notification followed by an email saying they were out of stock. This was ordered well in advance. Disappointing as it isn?t the first time they have let me down. No more orders from me, I?m done!

Went here for breakfast. The veggie options were poor. I ordered mushrooms on toast. At just under £15 it wasn?t cheap. At that price you expect something that tastes sensational. It was mediocre at best. To add insult to injury, the default gratuity was 12.5%. They have no shame. My advice is to avoid this place.

First of all we are two couples in our seventies. One couple lives in Gloucester and love Daylesford - we live in the Lake District and are ex hoteliers. We all have very comfortable lifestyles. I buy organic food where I can. The ambience and appearance of Daylesfird is clever. Beautifully decked out and a pleasure to be in. Draws in the punters, and those who obviously have more money than sense! I will give an example in a minute. Lunch. Given that it was a Saturday and extremely busy I?ve made allowances for the average food. Which it was. Very average. Nice soup, cold congealed duck spring roll, Cotswold salad that my 10 year old granddaughter could have put together, average prawn cocktail with a couple of slivers of avo, decent looking quiche with a heap of kale. Nibbles £9 mains £20-26. It took an hour for our food to arrive, I had to ask for water twice, butter twice and they forgot one main course which arrived 10 mins after the others. Apologies of course but if this had been our hotel the staff would know to offer the main course ( quiche) as complimentary. No excuse for bad service. Homeware and food departments. Well. We laughed actually. A box of cornflakes serving two people was £8. I buy my organic cornflakes ( big box) in booths for £3.80. Bunch of tulips - £20. Tablecloth that you could read a newspaper through - £250. As I say. More money than sense a case of The Emperors New Clothes we feel. Clientele - not a child in sight ( obviously a place frequented by those with no children or those with nannies) lots of dogs even in the food dept which was FINE as far as we were concerned, 95% of customers under 45 - I think we were the only white haired folk in the place!! Also says something. Very glad we rolled up in our 2 year old disco - not a ford fiesta in sight. Didn?t see anyone buying anything except small amounts of food. Super knowledgable butcher. Go for the experience. We won?t go back. Much better places to eat in the area.

The Farm Shop and Cafe is lovely, albeit overpriced but please stop dogs going into areas where food is served and sold. Today, I saw a large dog with its paws on the counter where you pay. This is very hygienic, not to mention the unwanted attention a large number of people often experience with owners not caring

Beautiful place with plenty of wonderful products but truly eye watering prices that are genuinely excessive even compared to the benchmark premium food halls like Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges and Harrods. The cafes and restaurants are also beautifully presented but you get the distinct impression that when there is a large volume of people, you?re a bit of an irritation and they are doing you a real favour to accommodate you and find you a table. It?s a real shame but first impressions stick and I won?t be returning.

Excellent service with attentive, friendly staff. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Treated myself in the farm shop on the way out. We will definitely return. Shocked by the poor reviews to be honest.

Massively overpriced, the whole shop, spa and cafe. I bought a candle from there over a year ago, complained about it via emailing their customer service and never received a reply even though I chased. Was persuaded to go back, they?ve developed the store and it?s even more expensive. Honestly? There are better value nicer places where the staff are friendly.

Not sure what the hype about, all show, not as good as Bents or Cheshire smokehouse. Rude staff, shall not return, not really a farm shop, no actual veg just high end items..not a real farm shop experience. Dont waste your time, better farm shops with heart out there to visit.

Lovely options both continental and hot. Food was great but coffee and juices were average. It is a touch expensive but the quality is clear. Lovely bright room with friendly staff and a nice escape from the rain!

Very poor breakfast. Undercooked sausage, the sourdough toast was just lukewarm bread. Fried eggs were an ugly mess and the tomato was inedible. I have had better breakfasts at motorway services

Beautiful store with lovely products (albeit overpriced for what they are) Sadly this was our second negative experience at the cafe. We were met by a really unfriendly man (same one as last time) and given overpriced, bad cappuccinos, weak matcha & stale almond croissants. If you?re going to charge premium prices you need to step things up and offer products and service to match.
