We had a lovely meal, everything was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and despite being short staffed were still providing great service. We will definitely return to try out other dishes on the menu we didn?t choose this time. Thank you for a great meal.

All food locally sourced, cuisine on a level to top London hotels. Everything homemade, bread etc and top ingredients. Service was personal, efficient and kind. Excellent atmosphere. Wonderful experience, sad to leave. Not the normal experience one would expect from a county inn.

Easily the friendliest pub we've visited in a long while. From the point of booking the team here were so friendly and polite. Both the food and service were first class, their fish dishes are a real treat. In summary a pleasure to be reminded of the true beauty of a local country pub. Thanks for the warm welcome, hope to stay next time.

We stayed just down from the George and I?d booked a table for our silver wedding anniversary. Good choice of food, several fish dishes. I had the platter of seafood which was good but just too much of it for me. Neither of us wanted dessert but Pat presented us with a plate of strawberries and truffles with ?happy 25th wedding anniversary ? written in chocolate. That was very thoughtful and a lovely gesture. Highly recommend.

Lovely little village, sat outside in a nice court yard, locals were ?, menu is strange, specials were all fish, hubby went for the pork pie and I had the fish platter, both came with a very generous side of chips and new potatoes. We heard someone ask for the meat menu not sure what that was about, but the food was good and the atmosphere, if we had been around another night definitely would return.

The staff were very welcoming and accomodating at this cosy country pub. The seafood platter and Scallops were top quality, very fresh and presented very nicely. We shared the chocolate chilli cake which was delicious and very unique. Altogether a really lovely meal out at an amazingly reasonable price, would definitely recommend.

We had dinner at this lovely pub while staying at the YHA hostel next door. The food was great but it was the service that really made it stand out. They were so welcoming and kind to us as a group with four children, adapting food and talking nicely to the children. It makes a huge difference when your children are welcomed rather than seen as a pain!

Visited twice within the week and both times were lovely. The beers are in fine condition and the food is excellent - they're very accommodating to dietary requirements too as everything is freshly made

I was actually staying here but ate here everyday. Will review accommodation on the other site. I am a Retired Home Economist so can spot ping meals and bought in stuff a mile off. Tim, the Chef, is amazing. His speciality is Fish, but all the food is good. In fact, this is the third time I have stayed here this year as never have a bad meal. The Scallops, salmon, chicken, pork, etc. all spot on. Sunday lunch is meat cut from a joint and not bought in slices to ping. Everything is home made - mint sauce, gravy etc. In fact I was lucky enough to be here in April and what Tim and Pat can do with wild garlic!!! Even gave me a jar of home made pesto to take home. Ian, behind the bar, is very knowledgeable about the food and local history. Pat, Tim's Wife is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Pat even suggested I have smaller portions as she noticed I am not a big eater (due to mobility issues). As an onlooker, sitting in the bar, I was amazed at their patience. Is it me, or are some people (just a few) being more demanding since lockdown? Vic and I worked in the hospitality industry and I do wish people would realise that it is better to be nice, like Pat, Ian and the great Staff. I am a Widow who is still missing my Husband, Vic and wish to thank everyone for being so kind and jollying me along. Never stayed on my own for long, there was always someone who was willing to chat. Have limited walking and must say this is one of the few places I come where I can guarantee all the Staff are helpful without being patronising. Will be eating here again next month.
