Concept: Lydney is an ideal place for a relaxing Saturday. After visiting Lydney Harbour and walking 6 miles, my stomach started to protest. While I was walking in the town centre, the menu in the window got my attention.
Timing of visit: Saturday 16/08/2025, 16:15-17:10.
Order: Cottage pie and chips.
Price: £17.45.
Quality of food: Exceptional (7*). It should be noted that the cottage pie was served with boiled vegetables (carrots, broccoli, and cabbage).
Method of payment: Debit card.
Staff: Attentive (6*).
Service: Fast (7*).
Atmosphere: Relaxing (5*).

Family of 4 popped in for a quick lunch. The menu will cater for everyone. We all had something different. Breakfast, baguettes, kids menu. Good size portions. Tasty food. Very well priced. With lovely service from Beth! Wish we had found this place earlier in our holiday.

The breakfasts we got here tasted amazing and portion size is more than generous. We were served quickly by Beth and Karen who were both polite to deal with, highly recommended and would go again if I didn?t live the other side of the country

Couldn?t fault it at all! Karen makes the best vanilla iced coffee and always sorts me out with the most delicious full english on a Sunday when rocking a hangover ??

If you want to eat out but don't actually like food, this is the place for you!
I've eaten here twice. I went back for a second time, thinking perhaps I'd been unlucky the first time. Apparently not.
I had the Turkish minced beef with eggs the first time, it was essentially bolognaise with two undercooked eggs on it. The second time, I had an omelette which had the texture of styrofoam.
My partner had a cooked breakfast and even the bacon and sausages were cheap/value sausages that had been deep fat fried (or at least that's what they tasted like).
We asked for 2 orange juices and they were brought out in the bottles with the plastic cups on top.
There is just too much on the menu for anything to be done well, Gordon Ramsey would have a field day!
On a positive note, the staff are friendly ?

It was a last minute find with this place, we really fancied fish and chips then got given the menu, gutted we didn?t look at the menu before, service was lovely, nothing was too much effort and the food was very good. Will definitely go back again.
