Absolutely fantastic food, attentive staff and the best meal we have had out at a pub in a long time. We were so surprised at how great it was and was fairly priced too. Anyone complaining about the small portions is simply used to eating massive oversized plates of food, but my husband who has a hearty appetite as a body builder was more than happy with the portion. The ketchup was great and the lack of Heinz reflects the quality of food-if you prefer the latter, a Harvester is a better choice.

Six of us for Father?s Day lunch. Starters were fine 4 of the main courses were fine except insufficient vegetables, had to request more. The ? Pork assumed to be roast as on menu with lamb and beef turned out to be stuffed belly pork with huge amount of stuffing and fat with tiny strip of meat. The plaice (small) was served on its own, no mention had been made of the need for a side order. On suggesting some new potatoes would be nice, 3 cold roast potatoes turned up when most of the fish had been eaten. On complaining that there was insufficient actual pork meat, the manager arrived and was extremely rude, they did bring a further portion of belly eventually with its tiny strip of pork. Meanwhile a glass of Chardonnay had been ordered to go with the fish but never arrived - had to be fetched by a guest. My husband (81 year old father) was very upset, this very nearly spoilt the whole treat. Verdict inadequate management and training, no customer service, they did knock off the price of the pork but that is not the point.

We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday here, and choosing this restaurant while traveling with our dog was a wonderful decision. The food was truly exceptional, and the attentive staff made us feel welcomed from beginning to end. The highlight was the incredible raspberry parfait, a perfect ending to a memorable experience.

I wanted to love it, but sadly we left feeling deflated.
The service was good, our waitress was lovely. We were late from road closures and lack of parking from the fete, but they allowed us to still dine which we really appreciated.
However I have an egg allergy, and when we ordered our starters, 3 of the same, I stated this and the waitress made a note on the order, and said she would let the kitchen know. When the starters came we only had two. A different waitress came with the starters and put them down in front of us. We waited for the third which never came, so I assumed my starter that I requested had egg, so wasn?t getting one. We never saw anyone after to ask. So I gave it to my Dad. When the first waitress came, we mentioned not to be charged for 3, and queried the egg. She said we only ordered 2, and one of those that did come was in fact egg free.,but we had no idea. She asked if I wanted another and I declined. By that point I was wary to be honest, I?ve had experiences in the past with my allergy, so I?m super cautious as I can get very ill. I can see how it happened; lack of communication but it shouldn?t have.
Our mains were lovely, although I would suggest you order sides with each meal, as it wasn?t suggested I could have done with more food! We enjoyed our mains and the chips were lovely.
They were accommodating with desert and made me strawberries and cream which wasn?t on the menu and they were great.
The pub was also very busy from the fete, and whilst this wasn?t the pubs fault at all, it made for a very hectic time with children/people moving around a lot as we were near the bar area. Which I again understand why as my Dad is disabled so we were sat there, so he didn?t have to walk so far and we were late. But it didn?t make for a relaxing meal.
I think the website should state the fete was on, with hardly any parking and road closures. As we would have booked in the Ox Barn instead.
So it?s a mixed bag of good/bad and some wasn?t the pubs fault. Would I go back? Probably not, but will try Thymes other restaurant for sure.

Fantastic Sunday dinner. The beef was tender and juicy. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The rhubarb crumble was tart and sweet. The wine was excellent as well.

Called in for a lunchtime meal. Was stood at the bar for over 5 mins with no service at all so helped ourselves to the menus. Food looked great! Finally seated and was sat at our table for over 10 minutes with not one person attending to us. After the waitress fluttered in and out a number of times avoiding helping we just decided to leave and walked out to find better service at the keepers arms in quenington. Far better atmosphere and service!

The bar has great atmosphere..The bar manager has a decent selection of beers and distinctly makes his own batch of Negroni on tap with a decent strength and right amount of Campari bitters to quench the thirst. ..looking forward to eating there and Thyme again.

Disappointing. Lovely old pub, but a fairly ordinary meal, and didn't feel up to the relatively high price. I haven?t been there for a while, and this used to be one of my favourite evenings out, but things seem to have slipped. Food was OK, nothing special, and some simple elements were off, such as the sourdough bread being fridge temperature. And serving the order of mash on a side plate was just weird. There are so many quality gastro-pubs in this part of the Cotswolds that punters can be picky, and unfortunately based on our visit the Swan isn't really up with the competition.

A Well Hidden Gem
Super sympathetic renovation of a spacious country inn, set in a charming Cotswold village. Friendly efficient welcome, and outstanding pub grub. Fried scampi that would do justice to a proper Andalucian chiringuito. Beef pie, wild garlic mash, and a well made gravy, could easily take the national pie award. Excellent bread. Good short selection of wines by the glass, and Timothy Taylor on tap. Bravo! Should have been busier on Friday lunchtime, needs own web site. ???

We had a special event here this weekend and we honestly cannot rate The Swan more highly. The food was brilliant, the service was excellent and they kindly gave us a private room. We never felt rushed and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Thank you ?

The best pub in the area. Go often, the asparagus with crispy poached egg and the fried chicken are TOP NOTCH!! Would highly recommend
