Beautiful peaceful setting.
Ideal if you wanna get away from the hussle and bussel of everyday life....
Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was bliss.

A lovely park with amazing views from the lodge. Super dog friendly and the hot tub was the best we've had at a lodge.
The lodge on the whole was very clean, but is tired and worn. The decking needs replacing as is rotting, including the steps up to it and the fencing around it. Our two dogs escaped on the first day as they had pushed 4 planks of wood out of the fence and jumped down. After having reported this, a nice man attended later in the day to repair it. We had no other issues with the dogs after this.
Inside the lodge itself, furniture shows sign of wear, but has everything you need and is clean. The fridge was no way near cool enough during the heatwave we have just had, and we ended up throwing out food as it had gone off.
Reception isnt manned a lot of the time, but this wasn't an issue for us.
The flies were a nightmare. Owner obviously aware of this as fly strips and spray are provided, which we used often.
If you are just looking for a nice base to go out walking and see the local area it is perfect, but by no means 'luxury'.
Overall we had a good time, but not sure we would return.

Amazing location with lovely views and lots of walking opportunities. The park itself is well set out and whilst my accommodation was lovely - a shepherds hut - the park itself appears to get some poor reviews due to the lack of presence of a warden which means sometimes rowdy visitors may spoil the amazing atmosphere of peace and relaxation here, and it sounds as if problems are not always responded to quickly

Incredible little weekend away. We stayed in one of the cabins with our toddler and two dogs.
The cabin has everything you need, with two fields for the dogs to explore and a little woodland area!
Staff are so friendly and approachable will definitely be returning x

If you are wanting secluded and peaceful then this is the place for you, we are currently staying in a lodge, two adults two children and 2 dogs. Absolutely have loved our stay, the kids have loved the hot tub, and the dogs have loved the two fields they can run around in. If you use the bottom field and head into the woods you will find a rope swing on the left hand side which was a big hit with our kids! The lodge is lovely and cozy, the beds are really comfy and they have plenty of cushions. They have a baby gate across the decking of the lodge so the dogs can't get out but can still enjoy the view and watch the kids in the hot tub. Just an 8 minute drive away is a red kite feeding viewing which we went to visit today at the farm, I'd highly recommend, the kids loved this. We really don't want to leave and we will most definitely be returning next year.

Awful experience the beginning of July 2025. Paid over £300 for a 2 night stay in lodge 1. The bathroom had extensive mould around the shower and all the window and frame. I have requested multiple partial refunds through Airbnb to the owner and all have been declined. I have sent the pictures for proof directly to the owner and been ignored. On arrival the Internet was not working or any connection to the tele. Contacted the owner who said they had rebooted it so should work and it continued to not work the whole stay. We have 2 young children who I kept out of the bathroom as much as possible due to the extensive black mould and no entertainment for an evening we hoped in the lodge as a family. Would not recommend a stay at all. The lodge was very outdated and worn with very poor amenities.

This would be 5 stars, if not for the beds. My fiance and I stayed here last week, our first week-long getaway since COVID.
Cabin is great, location private, hot tub wonderful, and easy to use the TV if you take a Chromecast and hotspot from your phone. Combi-boiler for on demand heat and well appointed little cabins too. Honestly they're a delight in nearly every way.
But the beds. My god. The double bed was dipped, thin, lumpy and the state of the sheets... I don't doubt they'd been cleaned, but incredibly old and stained. The double bed was unsleepable for my partner and I, so for the second night we slept in the two singles. These weren't much better.
The beds were so bad it put a downer on our whole stay. After a long drive and busy days, not being able to rest your body and sleep is a killer. We honestly found ourselves staying up late just avoid them. I can't overstate how bad they were.
Combined with the heat (28c outside equalled 38c in the cabin) we decided to bail a night early. Better an 8 hour drive overnight than even attempting to sleep in those beds in that heat.
As lovely as these cabins are in every other way, we won't be coming back again. Everything is so undermined when such a core part is so severely lacking (and I'm used to some pretty crap beds as I travel frequently for work).
Also a note to the owners, several of the deck boards down to the hot tub are rotting and flexing heavily under weight. The veranda posts are also half rotted away. When I walked over the veranda to the table, you could feel the whole thing sway. Could be a personal injury claim within a few years if you're not careful!

Could be amazing? but missing the mark..
The good- the lodge is large and the hot tub a nice feature. The views are stunning.
The bad- poor maintenance, the sofas are all broken and sink and are hard at the fronts. The hot tub cover is broken, we had a hole in the side with wasps nesting! They ask you to strip the bed and our mattress was disgusting.. TV/Wifi rarely worked and had to use my phone to get internet which to be fair is great signal. The cabins have thin walls, so you hear the guests every night. Our last evening we heard people partying until 2:30am talking about shooting people? until I realised they were talking about paintball.. there is no one one site to police this stuff and I don?t anyone will answer there phone at 2:30am! It?s great for kids but mixing the lodges with families and party people doesn?t work.
