For larger groups (we were a group of 4 couples), this is an excellent house. It is well located for exploring the Peak District and the property is well equipped.
There is a booklet that has been well put together with operating instructions for heating, window blinds, etc., although we found that a few things didn't operate as expected.
The location only loses a star overall because there are a few design issues that are only apparent when living here. One morning there was a loss of hot water, which we assumed was due to too many people showering at the same time. This shouldn't be an issue in a house designed for so many occupants.
Furthermore, due to the design of one of the bathrooms, one of our guests found himself looking at his reflection while sat on the toilet!
In the big scheme of things though, these are minor niggles and, as a group, we have already rebooked for next year.

Me and a group of friends stayed here for a long weekend. We had a wonderful time! We had lots of fun and felt like such a good break and reset!
The place was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed ??
I really loved sitting outside on the balcony and out in the back garden ?

We stayed at Oakwood House while visiting from Canada for a wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! We had a large group and the house was huge, beautifully finished to a very high standard, super bright, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The back garden was stunning, with peaceful views over the fields?perfect for relaxing. Having private bathrooms and ensuites made it feel like everyone had their own space, while still enjoying being together under one roof. It truly felt like a home away from home and was the ideal base for our special trip. Highly recommend Oakwood House for any group stay!

Oakwood House was absolutely fantastic! The house was incredibly bright, spacious, and spotless. The hosts have clearly put so much thought into every detail ? from bedside chargers in each room to fresh linen and towels, and a fully stocked kitchen that made our stay so easy and comfortable. Waking up in the morning and stepping out into the back garden to take in the views down the valley was simply glorious. The peacefulness and tranquility of the fields behind the house made it feel like a true escape. We couldn?t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend Oakwood House to anyone!

Wow, wow and wow! What a fantastic clean, comfortable and well equipped house. Everything here is top quality and the gardens etc are great (especially with the weather as nice as it has been). Plenty of walking from the doorstep. We didn't need to use our cars while we were there. Will definitely be returning!

We had a fantastic stay at Oakwood. The house is spacious, clean, and well-equipped, which made it super easy to settle in and feel at home. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the living areas were comfortable for relaxing in the evenings.
The outdoor space is peaceful and private, with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The location is great?secluded enough for a quiet break but close to local villages and walking trails.
Overall, a brilliant place for a getaway, and we'd definitely stay again!
