Perfect place to chill out in my lunch hour! Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious tuna melt toastie with a cappuccino. Friendly staff, good menu choices.

Really unique to have such a casual, inviting and friendly cafe in such a beautiful building. They made a great vegetarian breakfast.

One of Gloucester's best independent cafe's. Went in 2022 for lunch and enjoyed the lovely cakes. Brilliant setting next to the cathedral and always friendly and good for tourists. Looking forward to paying a visit soon!

The place and food great but although it was quiet it was very slow service for a sandwich.

The Comfy Pew is great little cafe in what's probably the most beautiful part of Gloucester, but what really shines out is the lovely staff.
I was there with a friend having a very extended tea and chat and we were still there at closing time. Not only did we not feel like we were being rushed out the door, but the staff were so kind and patient to an older chap who came in. The chap was clearly very confused but they spoke to him kindly and made him a cuppa, even though they were clearly closing up for the day.
Big kudos to you all for your kindness.

This might be the best cafe in Gloucestershire! Incredible atmosphere inside and out. Very good food. A superb rest stop this morning! Well done.

I love the place. After a year of working in the city and making the Comfy Pew my Friday morning breakfast my regular haunt, I had to go elsewhere with work for a few weeks and I really missed it. I missed the food and I missed the service. My time working in Gloucester will be coming to an end soon and it saddens me a little because I always look forward to Fridays. It's not just the food. It's the staff too. They always make me feel welcome and part of the furniture and I will miss them too.

Popular little cafe with tables mostly for four. Good place for lunch. Very close to the cathedral. A short wait for a table. Choice of filled jackets, salads, omlettes, sandwiches/toasties/bagels/ wraps, all at reasonable prices. Well made tasty food. Lunch for two came to £28 including an excellent omlette with some good chips, and a great bacon and brie toastie, as well as two glasses of house wine (£5.95 each).
